Welcome Mrs MM!
Anyone else sleeping badly? I had an awful night last night, and I keep getting restless legs in the night which keep me awake.
Yep, been awake since the back of 3, more to do with restless baby than anything else!:D Big caffine hit today me thinks, having to work till 6pm but not doing any overtime this weekend so can chill out a wee bit.
and Hello to any newbies :wave:0 -
Yes, Jwil, I'm getting restless legs too, had it first time round as well, it's very annoying. Doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it either. I have been going to bed really early (9ish) and reading my kindle, it does help to relax me enough to get to sleep but then I always wake up in the middle of the night feeling wide awake! Hubbies snoring doesn't help!0

Hi everyone. Can I join please? I'm 15+5 today. First baby and have just realised how naieve I have been in how much a baby costs!!
Luckily have a sister-in-law who has lots of bits she can give us but I'm sure there are bits that we will need to buy and could do with some advice for that and the general pregnancy from any experienced ladies out there!!

For restless legs drinking tonic water helps.
Little elvis congrats but don't fret babies don't have to cost a fortune if your careful and plan. There's lots of stuff available that you might want but not need xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

Just wanted to let you know that I had my scan on Wednesday, haven't managed to update this thread until now as I had to dash back to work straight after the scan, then the next day I went to London with my friend for a couple of nights which was really good.
Anyway they are pretty sure that there is a boy and a girl in there!!! So happy, can't believe it.
Both babies are doing well the only downside was the placenta and umbilical cord for the little girl is covering my cervix and her head is pressing on it. Looks like I will definitely be having a c section. Plus if I bleed at all I have to go into the hospital to get checked out.
Just pleased they have found it!0 -
Thanks Ikkle. It started worrying me as I was looking at car seats expecting them to be about £30-50 lol! How mistaken I was!!
Congratulations sillysausage, two must be sooo exciting!0 -
Sorry to hear others are sleeping badly as well. Thanks for the tonic water tip Ikkle, I might have to try that out.
BigThelma I always go to bed early to read as well, but it's the waking in the middle of the night - like you I'm wide awake, and my DH snores too!
Welcome LittleElvis, congratulations! We are not planning on spending very much at all on little one (need to save all the money for childcare,). We will get most things second hand, and will only be getting the very basics to start with. Anything we feel we need we can get when baby is here. I'm also going to use reusables for some of the time as well to save money on disposables.
Aww Sillysausage, congratulations! How lovely to be having one of each :j Glad you had a nice break in London, and hope all stays well regarding your placenta and cord. At least they can monitor it now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Some of the prices are crazy aren't they! A car seat is about the only thing we will buy new as unless you know the person you are getting it from, you don't know whether it's been in an accident. The other thing will be a cot mattress."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
jwil - oh no, I haven't even thought about childcare costs yet! will you be working full time once your little once is here? i'm glad i wasn't the only one that thought the prices were a bit steep. A car seat can only be used for 9 months as well and like you say you want to buy one new so you can't sell it on afterwards . . .0

Hi LittleElvis, congratulations. It's easy to get carried away when looking at baby things but it doesn't have to cost a fortune, honest! There are usually regular sales on at Mothercare etc, supermarkets do pretty good value vests and sleepsuits and borrowing stuff is good.
Ikkle, thanks for the tip about tonic water, oddly enough we have some in the sideboard so I might try a little tonight.
Awesome news Sillysausage, how exciting! If you know you'll be having a c-section you can plan accordingly.
Hi Jwil, yes, last night I was awake at 4am, husband snoring, then just as I stated drifting off, son started grizzling, then the baby monitor started beeping! Had a loose connection so I juggled it about and it seemed ok again, and son went back off to sleep but by then I was well and truely awake!
Also had dreadfully upset tummy last night, seems I can only eat incredibly bland, plain food. Couldn't even finish a doughnut tonight, which is unheard of!0
