Silly sausage, my tummy/bump is really aching! Like I've done sit ups, also twinges when I cough? Was going to text my midwife to make sure this is ok!
  • MrsDL - is it the whole bump or in specific areas? Could it be round ligament pain? I get twinges when i cough but i think its round ligament pain as things are growing and getting heavier. Plus I have PGP which is getting worse by the day so for me sme of the pain is coming from that. I find the midwife would rather you rang and got some reassurance than you ignored anything. Ring her and see what she says - it can't hurt to ask.

Sorry i didn't get on yesterday but had my scan and all is ok. Baby is growing well and placenta is definitely still at the front so limited kicking felt but it was moving around a lot and trying to hide its face. Kinda funny as everyone I tel that to says its a girl cos its shy. We say its a boy as at the time the radiographer was trying to check for a hare lip and baby was covering its face so she couldn't. We decided it was being awkward therefore its probably a boy! We didn't find out but DH is adamant it is a boy.

Ammarj - I'm the same. I had lost 3 and a half stone before getting pregnant with this one so am in my bigger clothes at the moment. Although will be into maternity clothes before long if this one grows like DS did! 12 weeks left at work for me and then I get to take a few weeks annual leave before my maternity kicks in. Baby has also been told not to arrive on certain dates! lol!

Zcrat - delighted your scan went well too and congrats on team blue! That's so cool!

Sarahs999 - also delighted your scan went well too and so pleased everything is going ok for you.

Sillysausage - the next week will fly by and before you know it you will be sitting the waiting room. And yes the flutters sound about right - feels like someone is tickling you from the inside. I used to get that with DS especially if i was lying on my front reading. Like he was objecting to my being on my tummy.

Thank you everyone. Yes, I'll have another scan at 20 weeks (actually 19+3), but I get scans every two weeks anyway because of my complicated gynae history.

I told my private consultant yesterday that I couldn't afford to see him so often and he was fine about me droping the number of visits, particularly as I am also seeing my nhs consultant in between trips to him. I'm very glad as actually we are struggling to meet the costs and what I really want to be doing is saving so I can haev the longest maternity leave possible. In fact, I want to leave my job completely and do something different so really need the cash to pile up!
  • wow sillysausage, twins...how exciting. Are you going to find out what you're having? You were on the 12month+ thread weren't you? Has it sunk in yet?

AFM, I'm 19+2, scan a week tomorrow (EDD 12/2/3) - we must be pretty close? When is your EDD?

I'm so nervous about my next scan (I think more so that my 12 week one). I've got a cleft lip & palate and am concerned it might be passed on, also just generally worried about other things that may be wrong! I know its daft and theres nothing I can do about it - doesn't stop me worrying (can you tell I'm a worrier:o)

Really glad your scan went well Nepthys

Still not felt any flutters, looking forward to when I do

    Happy Thursday everyone
    xx

My bump has been really achey as well for the past 3-4 days on and off especially at night. I'm sure it's been a growth spurt as I can really notice that there is something there now not just flab, when I was trying to tie up my shoes yesterday bending forwards felt a bit weird like ooh there is something starting to get in the way :D

I've also had DH, mum and MIL all stroking my bump today commenting that I'm 'coming on nicely' which for my mum is a pretty kind comment, lol! And to say I was totally no one is touching my bump at the beginning I'm liking that family are taking an interest, think if it was strangers it would be totally a different situation.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and welcome to the newbies

I must admit I'm worrying a bit about the 20 week scan too... We are going away for a little break next week and we want to go baby shopping but I keep thinking 'what if buy stuff and something is wrong' I even considered trying to book a private scan early next week to have some reassurance and hubby thinks I'm mad and being impatient.

I don't know I'm sure I'm being silly....... Finding the nerves for this one worse than the dating scan!

I'm utterly exhausted. I slept for 12 hours last night and was still horrified when the alarm went off. Then I fell asleep on the train! I'm 16 weeks now; thought this was all meant to be in the past....
  • i know the tired feeling, i was in bed by 10 last night, got up to take my brother to work at 6:40 ( on off favour because of the weather and he had a lot of stuff to carry) then when back to bed when i got in and didn't get up till after 11, but i'm still tired.
