I can't wait till I can feel baby. I'm 17 weeks on Monday. But I'll settle for having heard the heartbeat yesterday for now. Was an awesome sound. :D

i feel more bonded to baby since feeling him/her kick. just layed out in the garden and husband felt baby kick quite a few times, its fun that he can feel it as well :)

brought a sports bra from H&M yesterday, my best buy yet i think £9.99 and it feels really comfy.

I am gonna start stocking up on infant formula for post breast feeding and when I start working. Anyone any idea which one to use? They don't make te one I used with my first. ? Ps this is not an invitation to diss me for not breast feeding for six months.

Hi RJH, hope you dont mind me dropping in. I cant advise on which formula cos i'm a bf'er but i would say from listening to all the ladies on the NB thread, that its best not to invest too much in any one formula, as it can take a while to find the right one for your LO. If you stock up on one, and it doesnt suit, you'll be a bit stumped! Likewise with nappies, lots of the ladies have had to switch brands and types and go up or down sizes to find the right ones. Not all shops are obliging about swapping, although some are.

P.s, you do whats right for you. There is alot of pressure to BF these days from midwives and health visitors, but no matter how much the extol the benefits of BF, its more important for baby to have a happy mummy.

I agree, I hope to breastfeed (it's the Earth mother in me), but if I can't or it's getting me stressed/too painful etc, then I don't see the point in forcing it. I'm lucky, in that I will be home for 6 months post birth (although I'm hoping I can eek out another month or two....doubt it though)...so it's an easy option. No need to try and think about how to manage it and juggle work at the same time.

But I'm totally open to bottle feeding if it doesn't suit. A happy mummy = a happy baby in my opinion.

I couldn't with my first cos she was tongue tied. Tried desperately. Hoping to give it a try and if I can't express the good stuff then go onto bottle feeding.

My lo had tongue tie.. if you think your new baby has it as well, and you want to bf, insist they check it. It took me 8weeks to get them to refer her to the tt clinic, but because i insisted i was bf only, they did eventually and released her tie. You can pay for private release as well.. Good luck either way!!
