I had my 20 week scan this morning! We've chosen not to find out the sex and I wasn't even thinking about it after she asked us at the beginning as I was so transfixed by the little baby on the screen!
Saw it's hands and feet and the heart beating, was lovely. She said it's a little bigger than expected for my dates but it doesn't mean it'll be a 10lb-er -- phew! Hard to believe it's the last time I'll see it before it's here!
19 and a half weeks to go -- the countdown is on!0 -
Big hugs twinklie. I don't understand why they can't just have a general conversation over the phone, it just causes more stress having to wait. I hope all goes well for you.
Well had my 20 wk scan yesterday and baby is healthy :-) They checked all the major organs and talked through everything and explained what she was looking for each time. I'm so happy and relieved. They discovered my placenta in low lying which means I need to have another scan at 32 weeks to see if it has moved up, if it hasn't then I may need to have a c-section. I'm trying not to think about it all too much as the mw said it should just grow up when the uterus is growing. Also I'm rhesus negative so I have to watch for bleeding before my anti-d injection at 30 wks, as my placenta is low there is a chance of some slight bleeding.
The midwife was great at explaining everything but I had a look on the net last night and a few sites are saying no exercise and no intercourse, she didn't mention this. Anyone else had a low lying placenta??
Mine was low at my 20 week scan, I wasn't told to avoid anything in particular though, maybe that's just for those that are very low/covering? Anyway, all nicely out of the way when they scanned me again, and it gave me a chance to find out if I was right about growing a giant (he was!).Didn't get any pics though, as he wouldn't show his face!

Hiya Rj, know the feeling yet again, 19 weeks today and scan is next weds when exactly 20 weeks. have had some movement but still paranoid there is not a baby in there!! can;t wait to see flavour though, especially as i am due to fly next day if all well so will be looking for baby bargains on holiday!
I'm the other way around, scan in the morning, then an observed lesson in the afternoon - yawn! I have now done all hours needed for my course though, and have 2 more observations (1 after next week) and just one assignment to do. Can't believe how being pregnant has made this so quick and panicked that one of the ladies in pregnancy club has given birth at 28 weeks - that could be 9 weeks away - eek!! good luck with exam.
Hope we are well, im experiencing a lot more aches and pains and bump has got harder, odd! good luck for your appointment tomorrow twinklies, glad DH is back from Wales for you. And emsbet, if you do still skulk, yay on being 16 weeks. one day i will get brave and post on your pregnancy club but am happy stalking for nowxx

so went to docs about my back pain today, i was a little worried it might be a chest infection but its just muscular. of course i can take paracetamol but i am not a fan of drugs.
i can use fisiocrem which i use on my sore knees, it really helps and GP says he is happy for me to use. they sell it on ebay and amazon, if anyone is interested here is a link. it was originally recommended to me by my physio who i saw about knee problems.

I bought some maternity clothes from the Next sale online and received the majority of it yesterday. Really pleased with my purchases especially the black work trousers reduced from £22 to £10. They're really really comfy. Just been on their website as I'm considering buying another pair and noticed they still have lots of maternity wear left in sale section:

hello! I have a really stupid question for you but I'm getting tempted by the next sale but as I haven't yet bought anything maternity, do I just buy the same size I am now?! I am still fitting into size 10 tops though they are tight around boobs, and also fitting into my size 14 jeans, just again they are tight. So should I go for size 12 tops and size 16 bottoms, or just the same size?? I don't think I'll have time to get out to a shop before I fly next thursday xx

I have just bought my normal size (size 10) from Next as they're a really good fit with plenty of room for my expanding belly but I have bought a bigger size in tops from New Look and H&M.
Hope this helps :-)0 -
I went down a size on my bottom half! Normally I'm a 16 as I have a large bum and wide hips but somehow pregnancy suits me as the jeans I've bought have been a 14! Tops I've either stayed the same or gone up a size as my boobs have got bigger.
Had a horrible near-accident this morning in the car on the way to work this morning and it really shook me up! Absolutely no harm or damage but it was the "what ifs" that upset me. My poor teeny tiny baby in my tummy was in danger and I wanted to get out the car and clobber the stupid other driver. I was very sensible and stayed in the car and just screamed at him but I wanted to march up to him and tell him how much he'd endangered my little baby!
I forgot to mention on my last post that I got to the clinic for my scan yesterday without my green form!!! Luckily I was early so could whiz home and get it. I thought, I'm going to be a terrible mother!!0 -
