  • Ummm, we have a problem and I don't know what I can do about it (if anything)... so I thought I should come on here and ask you all for advice...

We're 24 weeks today, does that mean that I need to think about disappearing over to the big main thread, where the in thing seems to involve talking about labour, aches and pains, and getting a bag ready to take to the hospital for birth. Is it really time for us to prepare for the end of pregnancy already, and the arrival of a newborn baby?

I like the world of denial, pretend that nothing's happening and that we won't lose our sleep, house, money, energy, and free time in less than 4 months. Can I stay here a bit longer, please?

  • It's easy for me to remain happy and non-serious, it's my wife who's currently struggling, limited to doing very little, everything's starting to hurt, and has a diet of whatever she can get her hands on pretty much non-stop...

I mean, how hard can it really be for me? Hmmm, very, if hand-squeezing during labour is anything to go by... and that day is getting ever closer... :S

I'm the same. I hate chocolate normally, but a mint areo at the minute...yum!!

I often wonder why I bother posting on the pet forum. Asked about introducing dogs to baby - just in case there is anything I've missed and poeple just start ranting on about one thing. I call my dog a puppy - I call ALL dogs puppies. They've latched onto that and keep ranting about how at 2 she's no longer a puppy and should stop being treated like one. It's a word people...not an action!!! Grr.

Anyway, hope everyone is cooking nicely.

we rubbed a blankie all around our daughter wehn she was born then brought it home to our doggy so he could get used to smell before she came home and he had no problems with her- unfortunately she had very early allergy induced asthma so we had to say bye bye to our doggy :( he was my wee puppy and he was four lol and i still call my nearly four year old daughter my baby lol ;)

Aww thanks rjh. That's what I'm worried about - I have asthma and dodgy lungs and I'll be distraught if I've passed any of my ick to the baby. And then to have to say goodbye to puppy on top might just finish me off.

I love the bringing the blanket home idea though. Will defo do that, since I suspect I'll be in hospital at least overnight (I'm desperate not to be kept in any longer). Glad it's not me that still uses silly names for things and people. I still call my 6 foot plus 16 year old nephew puddin' because that's what I said he looked like the day my sister brought him home. When I talk to people about him, I call him my baby nephew. :rotfl:
