Midwife is one HUGE lady so he was asking me what of she needs to come check on us she wouldn't fit through front door. Sorry to anyone who is morbidly obese but this lady was. He kept saying the big lady was squishing the babylove you lots like jelly tots0 -
Hello all, just signing off as am 24 + 5 today. Have deleted myself from the list and will join main pregnancy thread.
I am delighted to have passed V day :j. However, had a doppler scan last Friday to check blood flow, and the uterine artery is not quite working as it should. Nothing wrong with the baby, but I need regular growth scans (3 more booked in) and blood pressure checks, and am definitely classified as a high risk pregnancy now. More risk of developing pre-eclampsia and a small for dates baby, however keep reminding myself it is just an increased risk, not a diagnosis.
See you on the other thread!

Urgh I had an awful day today. Spent all morning at work throwing up. Have only been sick 4 times before in the last 13 weeks and that was nothing major but today, I just don't know what happened! I'm 13+4 today. I keep thinking I have a bump but then the next day it's shrunk so guess I'm still looking bloated and have water retention.
When have other peoples 'bumps' started looking properly pregnant? Am counting down the days til the 16 wk appt, think it's 17 so a while off yet. And am also counting down the months til I finish work, 5 on Friday. Cannot wait!
Hope everyone else is doing ok.0 -
I read a lot about how pregnancy brings you closer to female relatives, particularly your mum. I'm finding the opposite at the moment. It's a real struggle. She keeps giving me stuff, which is lovely of her, but much of it's stuff I don't want or need, like freebie baby advice books from people whose advice I don't really want to follow, or broken/tatty stuff. I guess it's a generation thing, but I want to buy my baby a new cot, not use some tat that's been in my parents' attic for decades and has broken bars and mildew all over it.
I try to be gracious (and I think I succeed in the main) but if I reject anything she sulks. I know she's trying to help, but I feel resentful that I'm being manipulated by her bad moods whenever I say 'that's great but it's not really my thing'. I see her regularly as I'm not working at the moment and we've got into the habit of going for lunch. I'm approaching the point where large meals are becoming uncomfortable; going to a restaurant and eating their typical portion sizes is giving me indigestion so last week I said I didn't fancy going out to lunch and why not just have a sandwich at home? She sulked about that too and spent most of the afternoon snapping at me. It makes me feel guilty, then I feel angry. I have a good relationship with her (and my dad) and I know they'll be brilliant and involved grandparents (my brother already has two kids) so what's the big deal? Why can't she back off a bit? My blood pressure's high enough as it is, and I don't want the hassle, frankly. It's getting to the point where I just don't want to see her.

I'm not having any issues with my mum as she doesn't seem to give a damn! Only seen her once since I got pregnant an only spoken to her a 2 or 3 times!!
Our 20 weeker this afternoon at 2pm. Until now hubby doesn't give a damn and has no preference to find out the sex so I said we will then. Then last night he said he has a slight preference to not know. So goodness knows what we will do!0 -
Wow Rebekah, cant believe you have your 20 week scan already - I remember you getting your BFP. Time flies!!! Enjoy it
We managed to get some fab pics from ours x

I know it's mad isn't it! LOL. I am a bit sad it will be our last scan
Once we have had this and hit the 24 viability week then we will start buying. For now we are window shopping and listing though.
