  • Anyone wanting to feel baby move should try having a massage. I got my partner to massage my lower back last night while I lay on my tummy (i put my weight on my elbows so as not to squash baby too much) and they went mad!! It is the strangest feeling ever like they were doing roly pollies in my tummy every time he touched a certain bit - I couldnt stop giggling! :0)

I'd love that nursing chair! Please, post back the review when you get it!

Will do - I've sat in it a few times as there was one set up in the shops near me. It was very comfy!

Oh, whoever was asking about scans, I also rang the hospital to change my 12 week scan as they wanted to do it at 14w! They moved it no problem to 11w6d, so definitely worth a phone call........ :)

    Congrats hon

How did you feel after the 12 week scan?

Have you had much midwife contact? I seemed to constantly chasing down my 12 week scan after just 1 appointment at Gp where all they really did was take my details. The scan itself was fine in the end but felt a bit weird at the end, right see you January lol

I know it is different for every Trust but interesting to hear from someone at exactly the same stage.

I think I need to contact my GP for a flu jab so putting it off a bit!!

And know it's a totally personal choice that others might not go for but we decided to have the testing for Down's but baby was not sitting right at all so now need to sort myself a blood test at 16 weeks

  • Love the chair, what make is it and do you mind sharing the cost?
  • Lol, not sharing the cost of the chair, sharing with us how much you paid!!!

We want to get a chair that is almost identical, from Tesco - it is Tutti Bambini and £129, the only place we have found it cheaper is Amazon for £80, but by the tme you add delivery on, it is worth getting the Tesco pints for us!!! x x

Snoopy, are you a member of netmums? There was an advert on the section for our area the other week for someone who was selling a nursing chair secondhand for £50. It was in the other town that joins onto your town (check out me and my cryptic clues lol!). Might be worth checking to see if its still for sale. I was very tempted by it but not sure how much I'd use it and the only place I'd have space for it would be in baby's room and it's only a tiny room so I don't want it to get too cluttered.

Scan was Tuesday- thought I was about 12+3 (I've had weekly scans prior because of previous miscarriages so knew the days pretty well) but they put me forward to 13 weeks bang on and shifted my due date slightly... I completely flipped out when they called me into the scan part of the clinic to be honest and burst into tears (last miscarriage was a really long drawn out missed miscarriage - and while I was pretty used to going for scans in the EPU, the new environment and women with bumps was just too much change at once for me) so got to wait in a private room and think I may have queue jumped slightly. First thought when they put it on screen and I couldn't see the really really bright heartbeat I could at 10 weeks last time I saw it was "oh hell it's died" and while it was moving around in there, I completely didn't realise it would be moving of its own accord by now and thought it was just her wiggling the probe making the picture move - then she pointed out the heartbeat (less obvious because she wasn't doing the same BPM measurements they had been and I think it had fleshed out quite a lot since the last scan) and it registered it was actually IT having a wiggle and a jiggle - at which point it proceeded to throw us a little wave!

Midwife's been fantastic - I held off making my booking in appointment because having to cancel the last one was vile, and had popped in to the GP surgery to work out how best to reconcile not booking in until I'd had a viable scan with the fact her clinics get booked up like crazy and she called me and talked through it with me - said that as soon as I was confident enough to book the appointment she'd squeeze me into an out of clinic slot, and then did that to see me as a one-off. See her again the start of the first full week in December but I've got all her contact numbers and she's very good at just ducking out of her clinic between patients to give you a quick call if you're worried - between that, and the fact I know I can go back to the EPU miscarriage part between now and about 16 weeks if there's any worries or I just want my mind putting at rest and they'll pop me through the scanner (sounds like either the airport, or that they're popping me in a toaster or something) - it's really made a massive massive difference to how things feel this time round.
