Sparkle I was only mentioning things I'd fancy so are you sure there isn't room for one more?! Sounds yummy! Have a lovely eve with your friends.

I think DH has taken the thai curry hint so that'll be my dinner. Mmmm.

I feel like the slow one of you all. I'm 13+3. Seem to have told most people now although not my best friend as want to tell her in person and won't see each other until next week. I also have to tell someone I know who has been TTC for about 2 years. We're not that close and only see eachother every month or 2 but I'd rather she found out from me rather than through someone else. I thought about email as then she doesn't have to pretend to be happy for me but dont know if it's too impersonal. Anyone have any suggestions for how to tell her sensitively?

I had a similar issue a few months back when we found out we were expecting and had to tell our friends. They had been TTC for 4 years and had recently managed to get pregnant only for her to have an ectopic pregnancy and lose the baby at 10 weeks. We decided to write them a letter as it gave them chance to digest the news alone and meant they could then contact us when they were ready. They said to us that they appreciated the sensitive way in whcih we told them and they were still really happy for us even though they are sad for themselves.

I have been offered a pram today, it's a Quinny xl sport, or so my friend thinks, and she wants £50 for it, is this a good price? Can't seem to find another one for sale anywhere, it has the stroller and rainhood and is 3 wheeled, it also has the pram attatchment for when they are first born. Does this sound like a good price?

They have also offered us a wooden cot for £10 which i want but i'm not sure about the mattress?

Ecoelle looks like a bargain! Think Babies R Us sell mattresses as do Mothercare, can you ask the couple for cot dimensions so you can do some research?

Thinking of using reuseable /washable nappies - any suggestions where to start? Our local council doesn't offer any incentives...

I found these too which look good:

I think these would save us an absolute fortune compared to throw away ones.

If anyone has any thoughts on the nappies and wipes front I would be grateful...

Sparkle 76. i am looking a reusable nappies and the mothercare ones called smartnappies look pretty good, you can buy starter packs of them which include a set number of nappies and covers and liners, they llok pretty good and a friend who has used them swears by them.

Thanks both, it's a minefield out there... I want to get a set from the start, seems to be the most efficient way. Which Totbots did you get pigpen?

Also ecoelle the smartnappies are much cheaper than totbots for the starter set - would that be enough? Mind you even if I spent a bit more it'd still be less than the £270 odd for Totbots. However that set comes with much more plus accessories...

aaagh - this will take me some time! x

I have the velcro and some non-velcro fluffles but we have the ordinary one fom the older children as they were all they did. The coloured ones were always thinner but I don't know what they are like now.

I got most of Squeaks from www.usednappies.co.uk .. they are all brand new but had been washed.. and I paid no more than £4 per nappy
