I had this situation and I must admit I chickened out and ended up texting her. But... she's not a close enough friend that I would ever ring her up just for a chat. She's more someone that I used to be friendly with and then we just went in different directions then last year we started going to the same gym so started to get friendly again and I knew she was TTC at the same time as me. Sorry don't know if that helps in any way but just to let you know she seemed happy for me via text but for all I know she might have also had a bit of cry before she replied.

I think your friend will be pleased for you but also jealous. I'm sure it'll be ok and I think it's nice you want to tell her face to face. A phone call may be enough too. I think that as long as she hears from you that's the main thing.

I have a friend who's been ttc for over 3 years and she's really excited for me but has also said she can't wait for her turn.

Anyway - the weekend!! Yay!! A lie in tomorrow is on the cards. Does anyone have any plans? I've got nothing planned so it'll be a quiet one.

    Hi ladies!

Ddebski hope all went well for you with the scan, let us know the outcome when you can.

Welcome Twinkle, ask away any questions and we'll all try to chip in, several have already had kids so can offer much advice and experience.

Ecoelle I know what you mean in terms of one minute being amazed and the other being in an -OhMiGodIsThisReallyAffordableAreWeNuts kind of mode. I look at it like a mortgage - take each day at a time, the overall cost may be huge but we never look at it like that, we look at it as a home...

Caelshorn great that you have the scan date now, and Apricot yours will be here in a flash, you'll see!

Twi1ight I must admit I would be tempted to e-mail or text first, giving them a chance to absorb the news without feeling put on the spot as they take it in, then next time you talked to them they would have had a chance to take it in and prob would be easier for them.... good luck anyway when you decide, hope it's ok.

Well I am 19+4 weeks now, by this time next Fri we will hopefully know more about Sweetpea, days will drag but it's my week off so that will help me not to wish it away!

Speaking of energy coming back, I felt that on Sunday, not so much in the week ha ha, so let's see what happens from tomorrow onwards as I do have quite a few things I would like to tie up like car insurance, trip to the dump, maternity clothes...

    Hi everyone,

Well I was up early today when hubby left for work, so at 09:20 I have already emptied and filled dishwasher, painted final coat on a cabinet, put a wash on and tidied the kitchen a little. Feels good!

We have friends over for dinner tonight so I have to get my thinking cap on as to what to cook... any ideas ladies?

Good morning girlies, hope you're all well.

Sparkle - i'm the opposite and laid in till 8.30 today - that feel good!! Hee hee. What sort of dinner party are you having? Formal 3 course or relaxed? I seem to be loving Thai curry at the mo so maybe something like that? Or stroganoff is yummy too. Oooo I'm interested to know what you decide on now!

    Hi DogLover,

Well it'ls going to be just 4 of us and quite relaxed, wanted to get some shopping later and cook slowly sort of thing so it's all very chilled. I love Thai curry but my friend who is coming has very set tastes, hence my dilemma, as I love cooking but haven't had much of a chance to *really* cook in a while. My energy is back now though so wanted to do maybe a starter and main with a salad. I have lemon cheesecake bought, it's bad as I normally make my own, but this makes things even easier. There are 2 slices missing though :D

I do have some chopped beef still frozen, so maybe if I take that out it can be for a beef stoganoff, already have onions, need some soured cream, mushrooms and will see what else recipe says :T

Sparkle - fancy making it a meal for 5?!

Starter, hmm let me think . . . . Homemade soup? Blimey I'm hoping it's baby brain from stopping me thinking! Ummmm, if you want salad perhaps a small warm duck and orange salad? Something simple like grilled aspargus?

    I'm getting hungry!

Hi DogLover actually I think you have sorted my meal :D
Now you mention soup I really want some - was thinking sweetpotato, lentils and carrot, plus this means I can batch cook it and have more for next week, which is always nice, especially as we're off so some lazy lunches

SO... now off to have a look at Stroganoff recipes, as my last one came out a bit so-so - have nutmeg, have onions, have beef, mustn't forget anything :o Her hubby is a very active chap though so portions will need to be big :rotfl:
