Good to know you didn't use/need the teething rails. Drop side was a def no for me, funnily enough. I know they've all been recalled in the USA and Canada for safety concerns and as much as I'm sure they're just being extra cautious and maybe even a bit silly, I decided against a drop side..... :)

I think it depends on the cot really, and what wood it is made from. Many of the less expensive ones are made from pretty soft wood (pine and the like) or wood composite, which means if chewed they will break and splinter which is not good at all! The expensive models made of oak, rose etc are much harder wood, and won't have the same problem if knawed on whilst teething.

  • Morning all, brighter day today, got my head round the house issues, so just going to get on now and find us somewhere to live. Must be positive, must be positive.

    How is everyone elses days?

Managed to wangle the day at home, so watching baby programmes on home and health lol, not sure if I want to be scared, or more curious lol. I have become addicted to watching them. x x

Hope all mummies and bumps are doing well. I'm 23+1, can't quite believe it only 17 weeks left to go :)

Spent the weekend painting the nursery so that's all finished, lovely and pink :) Just got to wait on my Dad buying the cot bed which probably wont be until the new year and i'm impatient :) Would like it all finished before christmas so may offer to pay for it myself and get the money back...does that sound really cheeky?

Anyhoo back to work, only in 3 days this week :)

I don't think it's cheeky at all...... Just tell him that you'd like it to be all built and ready to go to avoid any missing parts or anything later (and building it at x number of months pregnant if you plan or puting it together). He can either buy it early or give you the money later. :)

  • I guess I should be out of this thread as I am 25 weeks..:o :D

Just wanted to ask if you think that pushchairs and nursery furniture will be in the sales after Christmas? Is it worth waiting?

I'm 28 now, but everyone is so nice in here, I keep coming back :)
Not sure about sales, I've never looked before, but see a few ladies saying that they'll wait til the sales to buy things. I guess if you have the time, why not. The worst that happens is you pay the same as now, so nothing to lose really....

I'm not due until March, but I so want to have everything ready and want to buy everything!!! I've decided I want to Mamas and Papas Sola travel system, but I'm gonna see if they have any Christmas/ New Year sales same with cot bed. I reckon they will have something off, sales always drop after the New Year where they try and drum up more business and like twigpig says you don't lose anything by waiting!

BTW, had my 3rd scan and baby decided to behave this time, they said everything was fine, baby looked fit and well and I'm team PINK!!!! :)
