Just lurking from <12 weeks, found this on the NHS website this morning and thought a few of you might be interested.
'It is fine to eat whole cuts of beef and lamb such as steaks, cutlets and joints (but not rolled joints) rare, as long as the outside has been properly cooked.'
It's from here http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/pregnancycareplanner/pages/Carewithfood.aspx
Seriously good news for those of us who love a good steak lol!!!0 -

Yay Bluebell! Congratulations!
Mine was also very difficult, baby had his legs tucked under his bum and only opened up at the very end after lots of prodding! She said I had a stubborn baby Haha
I've always been stubborn as well, so clearly baby is taking after me. Dread to think what sort of arguments that'll cause later on :rotfl:
I'd just like to say OW! I had plenty of prodding too to try and get baby in a better position, and I think it's pulled one of the muscles or ligaments just under my bump. I was supposed to be going for a walking trip to a museum this morning, but have had to find a substitute. Still, I am better than I was last night, when I could barely put any weight on my left leg (and having a downstairs toilet, with baby now known to be sitting on my bladder is not helpful). If it hadn't improved a bit today I'd be back at the hospital this morning demanding crutchesI can now just about walk, albeit pretty slowly.
Antenatal classes booked! Starting 23rd Nov at a Sure Start centre, so I'm on the free onesYay!

Congrats bluebell.
Re the jab, it is not swine flu, just normal. I have never had it before despite having asthma but will do this time I think. I got a letter from docs on 5th Sept saying appointments were available from 6th Oct, so i rang to day to book it and they said I can't as appointments not out yet and how did I know about it? I said I had a letter, she said I didn't as none had gone out but I have it here in front of me lol.
Kym - my due date is 29th March if you could update for me pls, I have no date showing as yet, thanks hon.
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -
I had the normal flu jab a few years ago, but felt rotten afterwards so have never had it since. I've already had swine flu, so hopefully that would make me still fairly immune to it.
DH was posted elsewhere with work during the summer that swine flu was really prevalent, and I think he got it off public transport etc, and passed it onto me. It wasn't all that bad really, though when he got ill I stayed home and worked from home, just in case, so he'd got me to look after him. When I caught it, he was better and went back to work!0 -

Re the jab, it is not swine flu, just normal........
My gp letter says something like protects against flu including more recent strains including aviation bird flu (which I think is swine flu from memory), so it will protect you from a few variants of flu. I've left the letter at home or would post exactly what mine says.
I was surprised that the gp surgery sent me a letter. I was going to ask for the jab anyway, but nice to see them being proactive.
9 days now til our scan! woop woop :j
Feels like it's taking forever. We're a definite for team yellow, but I'm looking forward to re-assurance that beany is doing well and then I can start SHOPPING! Still being extra good and have not bought a single item yetTTC #3..........0 -
twigpig mine doesn't say anything other than flu vaccination, no aviation is mentioned, so wonder if it is the same or the have just failed to mention the word in the letter?0

The flu vaccine is apparently made up of 4 strains this year and supposedly one of them is swine flu. The vaccine is different each year based on what the experts think are the most likely strains to be an issue. If it makes a difference to your decision if the swine flu is included then its probably worth checking with your doc first. I personally won't be having it.0
