  • Afternoon Ladies

I have been missing for quite a while and thought I'd better catch up again!

I'm now 20 + 4 and I had my scan Friday just gone. Were team yellow even though I'm desperate to find out what were having!
All went well with the scan which is a big relief although I won't see bump now until he/she's born

Regarding maternity I'm thinking of taking 2 weeks holiday then start my maternity 2 weeks before I'm due. I'm lucky in getting 13 weeks full pay 13 weeks half pay then 13 weeks SMP so I feel like I can take a little time off!

I had the MIL and OH's family down this weekend  All MIL did was belittle me on the pregnancy - I'm choosing not to have any/much caffene and aparently that's stupid. Also I'm 'supposed' to feel where the baby is lying (I thought this might be later on?) etc...Why she can't see everyone's different I don't know!

Plus side is she lives 200 odd miles away so next visit is at Christmas!

I hope everyone has a good evening!

    Lisa x

    Hi Ladies,

Had a really, really awful day. I came downstairs this morning to find my old cat dead in my back garden. It looks like she was hit by a car, she was covered in blood. :( Have been sobbing all day thinking about her suffering without me. She was an old girl (18 years) and has been with me all her life. She was active and healthy and spent every night outside and every day asleep in her basket, I'm heartbroken. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac so I never had many worries about her being out and about, plus she always wore a bright green refelective collar. All I keep thinking is she suffered and I wasn't there. This is the 2nd pet I've lost in my pregnancy, the first was my much loved dog when I waa around 5 weeks gone.

I'm trying not to stress, but I've not eaten much today and every now and then I get a pain in stomach, not sure what to do? :( I just can't stop sobbing.

Just waiting for my husband to come home so we can take her to the vets and have her cremated.

Jannine, just about to head home from work but couldn't read that and run. It's awful to lose one of your furbabes (let alone two in such a short time) - I'm so sorry and am sending internet hugs to you.

I'm obviously full of pregnancy hormones too and I'm wanting to cry with you. It is just horrible, and to think she was alone, but you need to try and focus on all the wonderful years you had with her. It's not going to help you right now as you need to get the emotion out, but in time it will. xx

I'm so sorry Jannine, The poor blessed animal xxx

You're not going to be able to keep calm as it is all so raw, Try to eat and maybe rest up a bit, hopefully when your oh is home he will be able to take charge of the situation and give you the hugs you need.

Not sure if you believe in the rainbow bridge, if you do maybe draw on that to get you through the grief x

I do believe in rainbow bridge, I have the poem on my fridge. My Mum said at least she is back together with Charlie (my old boy that passed in June) they were very close. I know she had a great life and was loved, its just the awful thought of her being alone and suffering in that weather that is eating away at me. :(

Jannine - so so sorry to hear about your cat, am sending huge hugs your way! As Crabapple has said, hopefully you can focus on the 18 years you have had with her and not dwell so much on what has happened, although I know that is easier said than done.
