For anyone who wanted a Stokke pram, they're down to £599 on Mothercare! I'm so annoyed that I've got mines, I loved it but decided it was just too expensive. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Lucy, I asked for my blood test results at my 16 week appointment and the midwife claimed they'd been sent to the hospital and I'd get them at 20 weeks, but when they were initally taken I was told the surgery would be writing to me if there were any concerns, so I expect that meant they'd lost mine, or just that as a stand-in midwife she had no idea what was going on
I'll see if I get proved wrong at my 20 week scan!
Icey, have a lovely honeymoon! Where are you going? I went to Croatia at about 8-9 weeks PG, just a couple of hours on the plane though, no flight socks for me, but plenty of water is a good idea (if you can, sit near the aisle if the plane's busy as that much water means regular loo breaks)! It's cheaper to buy it from the airport shop than on the plane, if you're going on one of those 'pay for everything' airlines. Also take it easy when looking round places and don't try and do too muchNothing wrong with afternoon naps in my opinion!

My blood tests were with the MW today - seems that Hertfordshire NHS seem to be rather on the ball compared to some trusts from what you all say. I would be really ticked off - I already had to re-punch some of the paperwork in my notes as they weren't central - messy holepunching really irritates me
We are off to Seattle & San FranciscoWe have got indirect flights so have 3 hours in Toronto and Newark each way (MW was pleased about this). We're flying with Air Canada and Continental so should get fed and watered on the transatlantic parts and will buy snacks/water at the airports for the domestic flights.
I've heard very good things about Croatia, it's been noted as perhaps a holiday once Elvis is ittle older. In the meantime it will be UK holidays for us!
Is anyone else off for a holiday soon? If so, I hope you have a wonderful time!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Aw Mozzy that's so nice! Bless them. What nice colleagues he has. I know it is expensive, but still a good saving. The pram we did buy in the end, we went in to Mamas and Papas the other day and asked if we could change to the black colour, and they agreed, but ended up giving us £80 back even though it was the same price! We checked online and it was. So happy days for us!The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

The MW told me to wear my passion killer flight socks for the whole of day of travelling (we go on our long-awaited honeymoon on Saturday) and to move around lots and drink lots of water. Anyone got any other tips?
Ahh, airports, planes and travelling. My area of expertise being an airline girl!
Keep drinking the fluids, avoiding booze (as if you werent already!), minimise salty food. Try and have a brisk walk down to the boarding gate to get the blood going, and the same when you get off. While you are sitting in your seat try rotating your feet clockwise 10 times, then anti clock 10 times. Point your toes, then flex them towards you, repeat 10 times. Do regularly through the flight. If you can get up for a walk, do, find a little space, and go on tippitoes, then back down 10 times, then try and lift your toes keeping heel on the floor, 10 times. A few calf stretches also help. If the queue for the loo isnt too bad, then also a body stretch, with you facing the loo door, arms reaching above your head, hands against the wall, feet a bit away from the wall, and then basically do a few standing up press ups. Helps get things moving!
Have an awesome time. I remember my honeymoon last year... mmmmm.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
