Can anyone help? Been reading thru my blood test results and
my HCG levels came up as 52.9 ng/ml;1.66 MOM. Is this normal? From googling they should be higher? confusedIm 13 weeks and had a healthy scan a week ago.

Hi Lucy...
Please dont worry... as tempting as it is, its best not to google things like that, as one only gets bombarded by lots of different information, and end up worried!
HGC levels can and do vary person to person, like anything else will in the pregnancy, fetal weight, length, measurement, will all be different. Your scan was fine, so if your blood results came back with anything to worry about, they would be in touch!
Hugs.

Thank you Kira. Thats what I keep telling myself. My midwife called to let me know to ask for another blood test because of my platelet count being low, so I could get another test when I had bloods taken after my scan.
I just wish they'd put the results down in a way we could understand them xxx:happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Hey guys,
My 16 week midwife appointment was as expected. Took BP, tested urine (both fine), asked about symptoms and if I'd had any trouble at all. She asked how the scan went and the results of the NT scan. No feeling of the bump or checking the heartbeat, as expected. Took some bloods too, as the hospital had requested a repeat blood sample. We also forgot to tick a box on one of the forms at the 8 week appointment, so that was re-done. My next midwife appointment is now at 25 weeks. She said they don't have the 20 week (which is what I thought was next) although she did say if I felt that I needed one, just to call them and they'll be happy to make an appointment to see me. Same midwife as last time and she was very nice. Appointment was probably about 10 mins in total, but not rushed though.
Oh, I also picked up the form to post away to entitle me to free prescriptions. Not sure if everyone knows about this. Here's the nhs link. You get free prescriptions whilst pregnant and for 12 months after the baby's birth. You can apply once pregnancy confirmed (I guess this would usually be after your 12 week scan?)TTC #3..........0 -
Twigpig I didn't get a 20 week appointment either, my midwife said your anamoly scan counted as your 20 week check.
The free prescription thing you can get as soon as your GP agrees you are pg. Either your GP or midwife has to sign it. I think I got my form at my booking in appointment when I was 8 weeks, the midwife didn't offer it, I had to ask for it. I filled it in then handed it to GP's reception for GP to sign and send off. I got my exemption card within about 10 days, and it has been great with the amount of meds I have been prescribed since getting pg, it's saved me a fortune on prescriptions!0 -
Evening Ladies. Hope you're all well...
Havent logged on in weeks, been hectic moving house.
Got my due date now as 27th of January, have my scan on 13th of september, so can't wait for that and we'll def be finding out what we're expecting, made everything so easy the first time round (well that and [STRIKE]I am[/STRIKE], i mean OH is an impatient sod)
Just wondered what travel system you're all going for?
Its mind boggling what to go for with all the choice out there.
Have to say i'm in love with the Explory, but not the price tag.
