Welcome Emma! Congrats on your 12 weeks today. All starting to seem more real now i hope!
Well, i'm exactly 21 weeks today, and i cant wait for my 20 week scan tomorrow to see if beanie is willing to play ball better this time and show us what team we are on this time. I know we have one more shot at our last private scan at 28 weeks, and then one more NHS, but i want to know now!
On other news. Not happy. STRESSSSSSS. my lovely new (less than 1 year old) car, has developed a potentially serious engine fault, which means it cant be driven, so spent the morning on the phone arranging recovery to the garage, and loan car etc. Not what i need with a beanie on board, and antenatal appointments 35 miles away tomorrow and friday. AND i have had to take another day off work cos i cant get there with no car.
AND there is no food in the fridge and i cant carry a load of shopping back on foot. No cereal, no bread, no potatoes, no nothing. I AM HUNGRYYYYYYY>

Thanks for the warm welcome!
It was such a long road getting pregnant that when it finally happend I was sure something would go wrong. I've spent the last 8 weeks checking the toilet roll for blood, over annalysing every cramp I have but since the scan I have calmed down a lot. I just hope the rest of my pregnancy goes smoothly
Do you have any prefrence on gender, Kira?
Sorry to hear about your car... Hopfully they get a loan car to you ASAP so you can get to your appointments and most importantly to the shops for some food. Is there none that could go to the shops for you?:staradminTrying to save money to give our family a better future:staradmin:staradminDD#27/10/07, DD#2 13/02/12 :staradmin0 -

Aw, bless Emma, well you are here now, so hopefully some of the worry can ease off a little and that it is smooth sailing here on in for you.
I was fortunate enough to have a very easy road here, but that hasnt stopped me worrying about every little twinge, and niggle! And oMG the sickness!
We dont really have a gender preference. Healthy is no1 priority. We have always said that if we were to have 2, then we would marginally prefer a boy as number one, girl as number 2, but its not a major issue. My family is DESPARATE for it to be a girl, so they can buy pretty pink sparkly things though.
The loan car is allegedly coming at 2pm, so i can go shopping then. But i've not eaten since last night, so i'll be at passing out point by then! Noone really available to shop- mum lives 180miles away, and everyone else is at work. Looks like i'll have to raid the tins cupboard, but a tin of sweetcorn or some dry pasta with no sauce or cheese etc is not appealing!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Amanda - How exciting for your scan this afternoon. Enjoy...... :j
Welcome ETanny
I still check the toilet paper as though I'm searching for the meaning of life at 16 weeks. I'm not sure if and when I'll be able to stop myself :rotfl:
Kira - Hope you get the car sorted out. Not what you expect with a relatively new car
I have a tip for those larger ladies like myself who are starting to feel the squeeze in their regular clothes. A friend at work mentioned that Matalan stock Rogers and Rogers (think up to size 32) so a good alternative to expensive maternity clothes. I hate going to Matalan/Primark/TK Maxx but I dragged myself off to the Matalan Clearance Shop a few miles from work and got 3 pairs of trousers and a jumper for the grand total of £10

Mine is the other way around, Me and DH have no gender prefrence... Im happy with whatever as long as its healthy
.
But, My family is desprate for this baby to be a little boy. After having 3 girls and the eldest having two girls, my self already having a little girl and my youngest sister having a little girl, My mum and dad are desprate to buy something blue!! :rotfl:
I feel really bad but I do feel this is a girl, but there is nothing I can do about it:staradminTrying to save money to give our family a better future:staradmin:staradminDD#27/10/07, DD#2 13/02/12 :staradmin0 -

Welcome Emma - hope pregnancy is treating you well!
I still do the checking the loo paper at 15 weeks, I'm glad I'm not alone. Feeling much better today after my upset last night, stopped off on my way from work at luchtime and picked up a portion of chips and a sausage from the chippy! Was flippin lovely! My midwife says I could do with putting some weight on, so didn't feel guilty at all!
I've decided when I have my 20 week scan at the end of September that I don't want to find out the sex, I read an article in a pregnancy magazine that said ladies who didn't know tended to have quicker labour's due to the anticipation on finding out! Not sure if its true or not, but anything that may result in a quicker labour is fine with me! Plus I really want to have the baby and my hubby to tell me what it is, not sure why, but that's what I would like to happen!
Have a nice afternoon all, only 2 days until the weekend!

I kept getting Mothercare come up on Google, but they've not got them in at the mo that I could find, I may have to pay £25 quid for some secondhand ones on Ebay.
Dunno why, but I just want some, nooooowwww!
Mad pregnancy whims eh?
P.s. good luck with the scan
... Been eyeing up some dungaree's too !! havent wore a pair since I was a child!!! Have been looking at bonprix ones but the cheapest are white ( ) I am afraid, but they have got a code on their website to get 25% off (ends 17th August) the most expensive item in your basket think delivery is 3.99 not sure really want the dark blue but its the cost! If you are already member of their club then think you could get 10% off as well. You can get cashback via topcashback but need to check terms and conditions.
