I'm also now on the lookout for a maternity ball dress that doesn't just look like a shiny sack! Hopefully going to a Winter Ball in December which should be great, but trying to find a suitable dress when you can only get these things online so I can't actually try a dozen different ones on, not so great!
Ohh dress shopping!I love wearing nice dresses. I found last time that I could buy normal off-the rack dresses as long as they fit my bust properly and were slightly 'runched' for the skirt part therefore making room for the bump. Fancy maxi-dresses are nice and flattering.
Perhaps i could come shopping with you Birdie as I'm not allowed to buy any clothes for myself?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Oh Claire, I do hope you start feeling a bit better soon so you can enjoy it all a bit more
Birdie; good to know I'm not the only one exhausted by mid afternoon - so much for having loads of concentration at work!Birdie85 wrote:I'm also now on the lookout for a maternity ball dress that doesn't just look like a shiny sack! Work bought me a dress for our annual dinner just a few weeks ago, I hadn't told them about baby yet then but what I did was choose a nice non-maternity formal dress that wouldn't look out of place with a bump. Not ideal if you're paying for your own but I got this one from Coast : http://www.coast-stores.com/michegan-maxi-dress/dresses/coast/fcp-product/2213171220
But a similar style would be flattering and still glam and can be found quite often, at a reasonable price, on the high street.
Now I just need a bump to actually fill the darn thing out a bit else I'll just be there in a dress that really is too big! Especially noticeable round the bust!
Off to the hospital today to visit bf's Granddad (my adoptive Granddad now as I have no grandparents of my own left!) Can't wait to see him!************************************

Hi girls, room for a little one?
Just had my scan today and everything went really well, nice happy/chilled baby so thought I better move onto this board.
They have agreed with my dates so I'm exactly 13 weeks today.
Look forward to catching up on everyone's news and seeing some familiar names from the previous threads (TTC and LT 12 wks)0 -
Welcome faith!
I did wonder where my energy bursts were!!!
I've had pregnancy related congestion/sniffles since I found out! It's been very annoying.
I'm finding I can't wear any non-maternity clothes as they just don't fit right which is a shame as I haven't put weight on anywhere else. Have ordered a few nice maternity dresses from eBay though
Would love to have a 4D scan but not sure if I'd find it weird?!

Thanks every body. I hate moaning but I honestly do feel slightly cheesed off sometimes when I feel so sick & last night scared the carp out of me.
Birdie yes it's prob best you don't get too close lol if you order stuff on Asos or new look it's free delivery & you can return easily so you could always order more than you need?
Big zippy, burst of energy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: is all I have to say on that!
Becca I'm not sure either, me & DH were talking about scans today too. What puts me off are the reasons Birdie listed earlier. And then after 20 weeks I'm not sure I guess we could get a 4d but it's also the cost.

Hope you start feeling better soon Claire, the very little I've been sick has been awful so I can't imagine how dreadful you must be feeling. x0

I started throwing up I think around July 31st and since then I've literally had one 10 minute spell where I either wasn't puking or feeling nauseous. I honestly can't remember what normal feels like anymore.
And in that 10 minutes I was panicking thinking something was wrong & crying & calling the dr. I can't win lol0 -
Hi ladies, been awol whilst moving but we're settled in now and loving the place
I've found moving frustrating- not able to get stuck in and knackered out from the little I could do but have to remember my main job is keeping little miss safe and sound, there's plenty of other people to do the heavy lifting for me
I personally don't like 4D scans, the pictures I see of them freak me outI get to see her again on Thursday and that'll probably be it then til I meet her but I'm happy with that, my favourite 'bonding' thing is feeling her kick and I talk to her all the time, crazy as that may sound
I knew at some point I'd be big enough to be uncomfortable turning over etc just didn't realize its this early (22+2) feel like a steam powered beached whale, with all the huffing and effort it takes to turn over
Claire I'm sorry to hear you're still suffering so, really does seem to be luck of the draw. Maybe you've good a very squiggly baby indeed lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
