We had our results back from the Downs screening (was 1:8) and came back negative. Took around 10 days from start to finish so alot of soul searching in that time with the what ifs etc.

I was still not sure (95% yes, my wife was 100% yes in keeping the baby) but lucky for us we did not need to go there. As main concerns were would it lead a normal life, can we provide the best care we can etc.

I just watch this very moving footage of a guy who thought the same. Mainly on having this baby ruined his 'perfect' life, but now has changed his way of thinking and his life for the better. So after seeing this can say there would be no way i could do that now. Hopefully this guys message gets through and as he said even if one person who was 100% in aborting changes their mind he has done his job.

How awful Claire, I hope you feel better soon. Are you still on medication for the sickness?

Clever you finding the heartbeat Squirrel. It took me two midwives and a consultant.

Birdie, here are some more nice long dresses for you to look at:

AFM - I'm not feeling too bad really. I actually stay at work until my normal time now and I've even begun to make dinner when I get home. Previously I was too tired to work late and my husband had to make me a little something I could face eating. I don't have any nasal congestion yet and I'm still just about in my normal clothes. Apart from my indigestion prescription I feel like I'm doing well now. I'm looking forward to my scan in two weeks even though we've decided not to find out the sex.

I've decided not to worry so much about redundancy as it won't happen for another couple of months at least, I'll get 6 months notice and a payout of 8 months salary. So I'll have money until after any length of maternity leave I'd want.

    18+1

I have some tablets left Kynthia but they only stop vomiting not nausea & make you drowsy so they're only really worth taking on the worst days and not if I'm working. Plus I have to like time it, last Thursday I had a bad day vomiting wise, so decided to take one as thought I'd stopped being sick for a short while, so took it but then threw up 15 minutes later. So you're then not really able to take another incase it was partly digested, but also knowing it probably wasn't and therefore isn't going to work and you've got 4 hours before you can take another!

Glad you're feeling better about your work situation x

Thanks for all the dress suggestions ladies! :) That Vividress site could be a winner, will favourite that so I'm prepared to pick something out as soon as I know we're definitely going! :) Feel better knowing that there are some nice options for me! If I can't get drunk I was to look good to make up for it! ;)

I was wondering where you were TL, glad you're all moved in and happy! Sorry you found it frustrating not being able to do much, no-one tells you just how knackered you get when you're PG! :o

I've noticed this week that turning over is getting more awkward and even getting up from a slouch on the sofa is getting more difficult! I crouched down at a colleagues desk yesterday and couldn't get back up! :rotfl: God knows how bad I'll find it when I'm really big!

Glad you've had good news Bailey, hope you and your wife can relax and enjoy the rest of her pregnancy now. :)

Great news BaileyB must have been a very hard time for you both. Glad to see you were feeling more positive before your result anyway. Will watch that video when I'm not at work... I cry at most things at the moment anyway!!!

Hi TL, glad the move went well. I agree on the 4d scans, OH is keen but I just think they're strange! I'd rather wait to meet our bean. Also we're staying team yellow, so would be worried that we'd end up finding out by mistake.

welcome faith! Good to hear your scan went well.

claire I don't know how you've managed with this sickness. Keeping everything crossed for you that it starts to fade now.
whilst my sickness has been nowhere near as bad, I though it had disappeared but it now back! Only this time I'm gagging really bad whenever there is a strong smell. Going into the toilets at work is one of the worst....

kynthia I would have been so stressed out thinking about the redundancy, you must feel so much better now you know you'd be find through your mat leave.

Have started a pg yoga class which I'm enjoying, we do breathing techniques etc for labour and positions/exercises to help too.
One of the ladies waters broke in class last week (she was full term) and had her little girl before 6am the next morning!

I've had the flu jab - I have it every year anyway due to asthma.

Did you tell them you were pg? Just wondered if it made a difference - although the flu season isn't truely upon us so I suppose Nov is OK.

ttc I'd had a text from the surgery telling me to ring and book, so it must be on my records. I guess there's a lot of people to get through and the oaps must be higher up on priority.
Sounds like they are opening up on Saturdays to do a full clinic just for flu jabs.
Hopefully Ill be ok, been a long time since I've had proper flu anyway.

Ooh thank you for the reminder, I will ask about the flu jab next Wednesday at my mw appointment :)

Energy levels not too bad today but general discomfort (most due to constipation, sorry if tmi for some!) and general lack of concentration are really knocking me back. Also frustrated with bf/home/general banalities so that doesn't help - nothing serious just feeling a bit meh. Really want a date night and we haven't had a proper one for about 6 weeks minimum! so much for always making the effort for at least dinner and a movie!

My lovely friend has knitted me some mitts/wrist warmers as I really struggle through the colder months with my wrist/hand joints especially when using a computer all day at work! she's making me a matching headband too to stop me ending up in tears from ear pain in the cold weather! All that and she's knitting the most amazing aran onesie I have ever seen for bubs in a teddy bear brown! Asked if she could do one my size :P

Still can't stop stressing that every little thing might be something that's wrong so praying I am just being daft! Mw apt next Wednesday and then scan in a few weeks at 8am (avoiding the hideous parking situation)

Finally looks like we will be getting me driving (just need to polish manoeuvres and take the test although need to pass the theory again now!) after 18months of no lessons which will make me a zillion times happier! Then I can look to get a car and have some independence especially onces bubs is here rather than always waiting for/relying on bf :) woop
