Dropping in to say a quick hi. I've been down with some delightful sinus cold all weekend so spending even more time sleeping. I can't wait for the so far mythical burst of energy!

We got a heartbeat on our Angelsounds doppler on Sunday night (13+1), it was very exciting and quite reassuring :)

I've noticed Baby Bond do Gender ultrasounds at 16+ weeks - has anyone been tempted / done one that early? I guess I'm looking for an excuse to sneak in another US before the 20 week one!
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Sounds like our OH's could be brothers Lush! ;) OH wasn't playing rugby on Saturday so I thought we could have a nice day out together... his idea of a nice day together was dragging me down to watch his team play anyway! I was so tired I had to sit on the grass and got a wet bum; and so much for spending time together, he kept wandering off to talk to other people about the rubbish match that was going on! :p It's interesting what our guys count as 'quality time' isn't it?! :rotfl:

Hooray for joining Team Blue Jox! :) Odd how it falls isn't it, a flurry of girls then a flurry of boys!

Hooray for finding the heartbeat Squirrel! :)

Will see you on the Big thread soon Mincepie! :)

Hope you're feeling better (and energetic) soon Eiteews, sinus cold sounds no fun! :o We didn't go for an early scan after the 12 weeks one as A) we're tight and B) we thought that since the point of the 20 week scan is more the anomaly side with the gender bit thrown in as a bonus, it'd be best to wait for that rather than having a private scan just tell us the sex and not pick up on anything else important, or pick up on something and rush us off to hospital... I don't know, we're just worriers and preferred to wait for the 'proper' scans. :o I'd like a 4D scan but OH keeps saying what a waste of money they are and how pointless it is that they're marketed as 'Bonding Sessions', 'as if we're not bonding enough already!' and by the time they recommend you have a scan you'll be seeing the baby in person within a few weeks... I just smile and nod whilst feeling disappointed that he doesn't want to do it! :o

Forgot to say, a friend gave us The Brilliant Book of Baby Names and it's the snarkiest book about names I've ever come across! No actual meanings, just mainly rude comments about how rubbish the names are! Looked up mine and OH's names and we were downright insulted! :p We then looked up the names of our family and friends and the least offensive comment was 'Still on the top 100 list'... I didn't think we all had such lame names!

I'm intrigued and want to read it now!

Lots of nice news on the thread I am reading all posts just too tired/ill to reply properly.

Last night I got back in from work, ran in as usual to be sick and then I think some orange squash id just drank came up like really acidic and I don't know if it actually got in my windpipe but suddenly it was like my throat was closing up & I was rasping for air, I was terrified, got some water and somehow managed to swallow a sip and then it started to calm down, then it happened once more & I was close to banging on the neighbours window as I was alone, but then it stopped.

So I called my Dad in tears as DH was at work, to get him to come & sit with me til he was home as I was scared it would happen again. Luckily it didn't but I'm now scared of being sick.

    Feel awful this morning too.

Just glad touch wood that cold hasn't materialised yet.

Oh claire I am sorry that you are having a hard time of it. Bad sickness really does restrict what you feel happy to eat/drink as you know you may see it again later. I'm sure last night was a one off where it went to your windpipe, try to be as relaxed as you can and keep your fluids up.

    18weeks today here :)

Poor claire, you are having such an awful time, I'm really hoping the sickness stops very very soon and you can enjoy the pregnancy (as much as we can while being worried as well!)

I told my 2 bosses last week about being pg and showed one the scan today, he said we'll have a word about how we can sort out work, I've told him I've got a few ideas and will sit down with him soon, he's being very nice so far!

I signed up for the fisher price freebie,, it will be the first baby item I possess if it comes soon :)

Can't jinx anything by buying stuff right now, too nervous!

These colds/not colds/sinus ness could all be down to "pregnancy congestion" btw ladies. I've had it pretty much since my 2nd trimester began... :o

Oh and the "burst of energy", don't make me laugh ;):p

Poor Claire, I feel so sorry for you. :( hope last night was a scary one-off. Realllly hope that the sickness will be gone ASAP! *big hugs, but not too tight incase I squeeze too hard and you throw up all over me!* :)

Hmmm, pregnancy congestion, yet another thing to look forward to! I have had a funny phlegmy thing going on but not too bad to worry about, wonder if it's just a preggo thing? Everything odd that happens to me now just gets put in the pregnant lady stuff category now! :o

I'd love this burst of energy too! Every day I wonder if this will be the day I'm not exhausted by 3, every day I'm disappointed!

I've had to cancel going to a papercraft fair on Saturday with MIL, I'm so scared of overheating and fainting that I'm staying away! Shame because I wanted a few nice bits to decorate for the nursery but I'll have to do without. :o

I'm also now on the lookout for a maternity ball dress that doesn't just look like a shiny sack! Hopefully going to a Winter Ball in December which should be great, but trying to find a suitable dress when you can only get these things online so I can't actually try a dozen different ones on, not so great! :o

We had an early one at 16 +1 to find out as we're both so impatient! Was well worth the money. Little madam had her legs crossed though so was a bit of a faff to-ing and fro-ing but got there in the end. Stubborn like her Mother! We had a Meet your baby one done in Leeds.

Birdie, I'm thinking about a 4d scan as well, would be lovely to show my son :) in the future :) But.... the cost......I saw one in Birmingham for £79 but I'd probably need to spend about £30 getting there!

    http://www.peek-a-baby.co.uk/index.php/birminghampackages

It's £95 in their London location.

It's an unneccessary luxury but a once in a lifetime opportunity??
