Thanks Ladies
Regarding the cat, I have contacted the vet, sspca and the microchipping people, no news. The area I live in is quite cat friendly so I like to think she's somewhere being fed and pampered...
I have lots of things I want to do just now my head is spinning. These include:
- New flooring/ decoration to flat
- Learning to drive
- Work related uni course
. I will later go and get some quotes for carpets/flooring...I'll have to save up for this but think I am due a wee tax rebate which can go towards it.
Regarding the uni stuff, looked into it today and the costs are about £660. To think I had the chance to have it paid for me a few years ago...I dont really mind though as it's something I want to do. There are three modules and they are £220 each to will just save up and pay for one at a time.
The driving will come later :j
As will maybe a new diary too...0 -

Managing to get out and about but think its time I tried to find a guy friend. How do I do this??? Notice that when I'm out with the girls we end up just sitting at a table chatting, none of my friends are really into going out dancing etc. Feel a bit like a dog on heat at the moment :rotfl:.

I read a solution to this somewhere (probably one of my many self-help books)and I think it's a great idea. You need to get up from the table and walk around ALONE. Not in the absolute wierdo sense :rotfl:but go to the bar to order a drink. If it's busy you'll be standing around for a bit as will other people and it creates opportunities to chat. Or walk to the toilets alone. When you are on your own men are more likely to chat to you than when you are sitting at a table in a corner with 4 girls.
This definitely works and is un-intentionally how I've made a lot of friends over the years. It's rare than I would be sitting in a pub but I have often worked in a family friends bar over the years and when I walk around to collect glasses people always chat.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Forgot to add
to the missing cat. Has he gone missing before and turned up again?

Thanks Mags, I often end up wandering on my own for various reasons but it's always the knee rubbers that ever chat to me...
Re the cat, I got her from a rescue home last year and she'd only been out in the garden a few times, she doesn't know this area0 -
Have you checked all the sheds and garages around you?? If you ask your neighbours to check theirs too.
My cat disappeared one time and he was shut in a neighbours garage but because it was just used for storage he would have been shut in there for ages until they checked...needless to say he was starving marvin when he got home
The cats probably snuggled up on someone's sofa enjoying being pampered...did they have a collar on....? Mind you that doesn't stop someone taking them off, I kept putting collars on with their name tags and this woman kept taking them off, until one day I followed the cat straight into the woman's house. I knocked on the door and said that she had got my cat....:o, then I asked her to stop feeding her as I was having to throw the cat food away...
Hope kitty turns up soon.
:grouphug: dodgy group hugs for ya xx

Hello
Well yesterday I went wallpaper hunting. Ended up being very un-MSE and picking one of the most expensive designs in the shop. Its totally not what I had in mind but it caught my eye and I couldnt resist. The other one I liked was 1/3 of the price but I had that HAVE TO HAVE IT feeling. I rarely do that and at the end of the day its wallpaper for my bedroom where I spend a lot of time and will last years.
I'm actually feeling OK spending money on my flat. TBH I've never been that happy here since I bought it, my money was always going on other things (mainly travel/holidays) and previous decorations have been to suit other people or done with a view to rent it out/sell it. I'm now doing it for ME, to make this place somewhere nice to be. It'll take time as I dont want to get into any debt so will have to save for each bit.
Yesterday my Dad came and done some glossing whilst I made cups of tea and offered to help (my Dad prefers to just be left alone as he knows I am useless with painting etc) :rotfl:. I took a wee wander to the carpet place for a quote and was quite happy with it. Asked about hard wood flooring for living room and carpets for two bedrooms, was quoted £825 for all including fitting. This to me seems great, if people reading this are thinking  thats was too much/low please let me know.
My Mum has given me her credit card :rotfl:, it has the £290 holiday refund on it for me to spend. Think I may get a giftcard for the shopping centre to get some new clothes. Not sure what to get though, need some new bedding so will have a wee looksie.
Going to go crunch some numbers. AGAIN. See where my finances are at. Hoping to join the gym properly now I'm not going to the UAE, maybe I'll do an SOA...
Ooooh I was thinking of treating myself to a MAC makeover or lesson, think its £50 for the lesson but you then get to buy products up to that value and they last ages0 -

You and me both!! Any tips??Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -
In a way I am VERY jealous that you get to decide totally how to do up your flat. OH tends to be VERY fussy. I would have liked wallpaper but OH doesn't like it at all so no wallpaper! (It's not all him saying no, he didn't want a bath, I'm getting a bath!)
Re the flooring it's fairly impossible to say if that's a good price or not seeing as there are so many variables! Like what type of timber, whether it's solid wood, laminate or engineered. And what quality the carpet is!
Horray for refunded holiday spending. Next have some REALLY nice beddinga the moment. (Well the new autum stuff) And I've sometimes got really good deals on bedding in TK Maxx. Lulu Guinness and Cath Kidston and Kylie stuff.0
