I MIGHT get away with ballet flats but I'm just not sure how much walking we're going to be doing so i'm worried bout my feet hurting. And trainers just don't go with dresses! .

How about Birkenstocks, the navy polka dot one is kinda nice.

If you go to a sports shop quite a few of the brands that make trainers now make flip flops which I expect would be very comfortable.

  • great news on the C25k, well done you! I have been to LA Fitness before, was a member for a while, but I agree they are so pushy!

I was in sainsburys tonight and there were some really lovely Cath Kidston-esque pyjamas :) thought of you when I saw them - see, you have an army of personal shoppers out there!

my duvet covers are both quite flowery (one a Lulu Guinness one bought in the sale, Charcoal Rose I think it's called) but are grey/black/white so not too OTT. I love greys and black (all my friends say typical accountant :rotfl:), walls are a dove grey and I have some black devore/flock velvet curtains from Next and some blingy chandelier kind of lights. Sounds a bit dodgy but is very calming and lovely, and I love being in my bedroom! The only thing missing is some pictures and personal touches so am working on this - have snipped some gorgeous fashionista pictures from Vogue and Elle and plan to frame them up :)

have to agree on the positivity, hope it continues as you really deserve it! :T

    Happy May Diary :j

Well have just woken up post night shift feeling all zombie like. Lovely outside and not sure what to do with myself, maybe go for a run or something...

So my friend and I went to watch the Royal Wedding in a pub in town, great atmosphere and free tea and cake :D. Surprised myself by really enjoying it and had a wee proud to be British moment :).

Went to the comedy club that night with some friends and ended up in a gay club until the early hours :rotfl:

Nightshift Sat and Sun , some shifts thankfully :)

Exercise wise I've been continuing with the power plate, can really feel it! My diet has been pretty appalling though, really have to learn to control 'days off' etc.

I might go for a swim today...

Been thinking of my aims for May, I didnt do any last month and missed them! I mainly want to continue with this self renovation stuff and would like to start saving a buffer fund. Will be back with this soon.

I'm waffling on now so will go get a brew and come back

My days off are pretty bad too. My prob is I go to OHs at the weekend and he lives at home too so his parents do all the cooking (I've tried offering but I'm given out to!! :)) So I have no control over calories over the weekend. I ask for small portions but I tend to get the same size as everyone else. I don't like leaving food cause they're not well off so I don't want it to be seen like I'm wasting food. It's all a bit awkward.

For May I've joined the NSD challange, the weight loss challange and the cutting down on alcohol challange. Figure if i manage to hit target on all of those it's a good start.

    Hiya LB

I am sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling too good and I hope that you are feeling a little better now. The holidays are the hardest time, but I used to use the time to have pamper days. Catch up on a book that I had every intention of reading and just totally relaxing.

I have just managed to get back online and have been having a quick catch up with the diaries etc....

With regards to your bedroom and the kath kidston have you thought about buying a white duvet cover and attaching a stripe of KK printed material to the edges same for the pillowcases. That way you still have the look but at a smaller cost. Possibly make a couple of cushion covers too?? depending on your sewing skills of course...mine is pants so wouldn't attempt it myself.

well off to catch up with the other diaries and need to update mine too.....wahayyy internet is restored...:)

    Keep smiling :)

Kerry78 - Good luck with the challenges, I do kind of follow a few but tend to not officially join as the threads get massive and I get lost! I might look into them more though. I feel the need for a giving up chocolate thread!! Seriously

BF - thats a great idea about the bed covers :) Def something to consider! Thank-You

Well yesterday I went for a swim in the council pool. OMG it was heaving!!! Yes I know its a bank holiday but they only had three lanes for serious swimmers and they were all busy which makes for uncomfortable swimming (well for me anyway). Theres then a splash pool, half the main pool and log flumes etc for non swimmers to use, nightmare! I'm not sure if any private clubs let you use their pool on a payg basis, wish they did!

Todays exercise has been Wk2Day1 of the C25k, still hating it! The music on this one is awful too, ohhh I'm so unfit! Also went for a 10 minute power plate session, loving it!

My next post will be my May aims, mainly planning to continue with this goddessing thing, the hard bit is believing it...

May it be Marvellous - My plans for the month
    • Self renovation, generally taking care of myself and caring about my appearance. Find a hairdo I like, keep nails nice, keep eyebrows tidy, moisturise moisturise, moisturise!
    • Believe that I am worthy of the above
    • Keep up with exercise, aiming for at least 30 mins a day. This includes c25k, swimming, power plate, shredding, WII etc
    • In addition to above, start a new (perhaps weekly) class in something specific e.g. kick-boxing
    • Phone the tax office as I am still on BR tax code
    • Decorate my bedroom and make it into a nice place to be
    • Spend time with friends family
    • NOT GET UPSET OVER THE EX, it has been ages now and has to stop
    • Sort out finances, need to start a buffer fund as well as some general savings
    • Find things worth ebaying
    • Try make some more cash (will have a look on the up your income boards etc)
    • Make a plan career/home wise, I should know by the end of them month if the UAE dream is on, If not I have to seriously think about what I want to do.
Another thing I am doing as of RIGHT NOW is giving up chocolate. It is my weakness and has ruined many a good dieting day. So chocolate is now out of my day to day life, I'll still have some on occasion of course :)

Agreed it's too difficult to keep up with the very busy threads. How about you make some checklist charts and tick the boxes when you do or don't do things. I have 20 things on the list and I've only managed 8 today but it gives me something to focus on when I'm feeling demotivated or depressed. The sort of things on my lists:

    Exercise
    Skincare
    Drink water
    Take vitamins
    Surveys
    Mystery shopping
    eBay
    Check bank accounts and bills
