That mother that hid her daughter to scoop similar money to the cash the mccanns were recieving, I suppose they were middle class were they? Nope, common as muck..
You don't think it's better to just pretend to lose a child rather than actually *insert whatever you think happened* one?0 -
I dont know a single person that does crack, cocaine or heroin. I have 2 friends of hundreds that dont smoke. You talk @rse.

As for your police officer comment, I dont believe domestic violence is defined by class. I think its just as likely in either culture as it were. Habitual drug taking, theft and general uncleanliness is definately characterised by the plebs though. Always has been, always will be. :rotfl:
Anyone who lacks self pride cant live any other way. And without self pride, you lack the will to work. Vis a Vis benefits culture and LA housing.
Oh well, I just know lots of people who have worked in the media and in particular a large and well known London media group, whose workers use crack like popping tic-tacs. Everyone has their own drug. Working class have premium lager, the middle classes can afford crack. Just because they don't snort it in public doesn't mean to say that your average middle class is whiter than white.
The reason abuse goes on undetected in middle class areas is just this attitude of minding ones own business. In a council estate, everyone knows everyone else, they may be rough but in a crisis they all come together just as they did when little Rhys Jones was shot in Liverpool. The parents were overwhelmed with support from their local community and when Shannon Matthews went missing, look how many people turned up from that estate to try and find her.
Yes you do get rough people who would spit on you so much as look at you, but in estates they are known and their every movement is near enough known. Nothing much escapes them. That is very different to a middle class area.
None of this solves anything, it just proves that there are downsides as well as upsides to being a part of any class and I agree that threads like this do highlight bigoted opinions.0 -

I personally would not want three dogs next to me. I think that's a lot of dogs. Also they would frighten my cats.0 -
I'm in the process of trying to buy a flat through a housing association shared equity scheme. Where I live that is pretty much the only way to buy a property. The block of luxury apartments is in a very exclusive part of the city and there is a a massive waiting list. About 18 months ago the developer nearly went into administration and the housing association and the council stepped in to buy about 50% of the flats in order for the development to be completed. In return they received all off the best flats with balconies over looking the water. I mentioned this to my father who popped in to have a look when he was in the area and the sales person was very pleased to tell that they had sold most of the block. She didn't tell him they had sold it to the housing association though!0

It makes me incredibly sad to see the amount of "better than them" bigots on this thread making sweeping judgements based on their small knowledege of what they have read in the Daily Fail. Tell you what, I'd rather live next door to a down to earth HA tennant than some of you.
Ever considered that a portion of these awful 'scum' tenants are just folk like you who paid £160k for a dream home before the recession and lost everything? There but for the Grace of God Go I. Some of you should remember that.0 -
I would just pity you for spending hundreds of thousands for a house on a council estate.
I do not have near neighbours and to me that is priceless..:)It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

If it wasnt a rough area inhabited by scum, kids wouldnt be going round with firearms. I also remember there was a 1 week wait before anyone would come forward due to the fear of reprisals. Nice. THink I will stick with middle class dom thanks.0 -

Sorry, I have no respect for someone who doesn't understand the correct usage of the apostrophe.Being in a job where I am responsible for equipment of great value, I can tell you I have never touched the stuff..
The biggest thieves were voted out of power at the last election. Filthy troughers like 2 jags and that war criminal under question again today spring to mind.0 -
