It doesn't matter people.
I've given them ten more days to resolve the matter following another useless phone call to Comet where they tried to coerce me into accepting another inferior laptop.
After that I'm filing for court proceedings.
Thanks to all the people that were actually genuinely helpful here.
No thanks to all the people focusing on the subject of my lost data. Read the damn post next time.

I never said I was going to sue anybody, but I will file a court case with them for the loss of data I incurred.
I have actually received very few posts here offering me any useful advice, which I don't even mind because it is nice that people are taking the time out of their day to post at all.
What I don't appreciate is people making completely unrelated posts repeatedly questioning me on why I haven't backed my data up? What has that got to do with anything?
I don't see why you're going out of your way to attack me here either. I haven't insulted anybody or called anybody names, yet somehow I'm the spoiled brat? Maybe you should review your writings before you post because that one reeks of hypocrite.0 -

But the thing I'm trying to get across is why does such a large company such as Comet have such an atrocious reputation for this sort of thing? I think it's clear because once they have your money, that's it. They just don't care.
Mmmmm, there are many more people that are perfectly happy with Comet. I'm one of their satisfied customers, I have used them for years. Incidentally, the laptop you linked to is showing out of stock online.0 -
It's good that you have had such a good experience, I seriously would want anybody to be going through the stress that I am as a result of this.
I understand that there will be an overhwhelming majority of people that have had good experiences with Comet but you have to understand from my point of view that my one and only experience has been pretty horrifiying and that a lot of the people who I've spoken about my situation to interrupted me as soon as I said "Comet".
One includes my PC tech friend who is laughing that I didn't just bring the laptop to him to repair which I am now kicking myself for. Another is my tutor who was very sympathetic with me, himself having had a similar incident with Comet.
They just overall seem to have a very bad reputation.0 -

If you read some of your posts when you are in a calm frame of mind you will see you've been quite abusive to nearly everyone who hasn't 100% agreed with you and that includes toward the comet representative.....see the first post in this thread if you don't believe me.
As far as suing comet for the loss of the data that really is taking the biscuit. Up to now the data lost, however important or sentimental, has never been mentioned......you've only posted on the fact that comet won't supply you with a similar model laptop. So it does sound as if you're changing tactics.

It is worth remembering that every customer that has a bad experience will tell ten people, those that have had a good experience only one (or something along those lines). Your posts are really vitriolic and you won't get far with them. Keep it cool and factual.0
