Well, there's a lot more complaints.
But the thing I'm trying to get across is why does such a large company such as Comet have such an atrocious reputation for this sort of thing? I think it's clear because once they have your money, that's it. They just don't care.

Let's rationalise this then. Type in someone like John Lewis (renowned for excellent service) and poor service into Google, and it will bring up loads of reviews stating that they have bad CS. Point is you could do it for any company, some people have bad experiences, some have good. It is not an accurate barometer of the company's overall service.
    Best Regards

Don't apologise to me, doesn't make any difference to me whatsoever.

Post as many links as you like of individual consumer reviews. Fact is it will only work out as a small proportion of sales based on what a chain retailer like Comet will make daily, monthly or annually.

Comet are one of the worst companies to deal with as regards to consumer rights PERIOD! Nothing surprises me anymore as regards to Comet, they even need a dedicated thread for comet on this website if you look at the amount of posts regarding them.
My Advice is stay way clear as to avoid there poor service.
Oh yes there are probably many people that have no problem with comet and thats because whatever they have purchased had not had a problem with it.
But once they purchase and deal with customer service as regards to warranties etc then thats where the nightmare begins:D

I haven't personally seen many good reviews for Comet either and I have Googled that too.
I also think my personal experience with them has a large stake in this, I've never been treat so appallingly in my life.

Well there you, obviously it's not just me.
I wish, I wish I had Googled Comet before I bought from them.
  • While I sympathise with your situation and do think Comet have treated you badly, I have to say that I wouldn't be rushing to help anyone who called me or my colleagues liars or thieves.

If you want this dealt with properly, stop the name calling and vitrolic posts on this site, sit down and write a letter detailing the facts, dates, times etc and send it to the CEO by recorded delivery ask for the complaint to be investigated and for a written response within 14 days and send a copy to trading standards.

If you come across as someone who is unreasonable, who rants and calls employees names then you will get nowhere. Help yourself deal with it calmly in an adult manner and you're more likely to get somewhere.

I was kind of in the heat of the moment, maybe wasn't the right thing to say.
Contemplating whether or not to edit the reply but I'm even too sure if he's going to reply or not.

You ever get so stressed out you just go to sleep and wish that in the morning there'll be some magical solution waiting for you? haha

    Little bit harsh there
    Theres One
And heres several that people sing praises for Comet

Point is, you are always going to complain about a company when things go wrong, now we are in a information driven world and people rant online but few people take time to respond and say "I've had a good" or "I've had a normal" experience with a store.

This is where the problem starts.:rotfl:
When you go into Comets with the intent of making a purchase they are the most helpful and nicest people you could hope to deal with.

After you have purchased and you go back and report a problem with your purchase they turn into monsters and can infuriate the most layed back of people. I actualy think that this is one of their tactics so they can then juist refuse to deal with the customer.:D

    This.

When my partner went in to purchase the laptop on my behalf they were apparently so friendly and helpful, except when they began pressuring him into buying the extended warranty which he eventually caved into.

Well after the first few weeks when I went in to complain, I was dealt with by the same woman who had helped him purchase the laptop.
When I began explaining my situation, she was having none of it, citing "Well, that's the gamble you take when you buy extended warranty" before ordering me out of the store because she didn't have to listen to me "commotion".

I wasn't yelling, I wasn't screaming at her. I'd raised my voice out of frustration when she wouldn't listen to what I was telling her.

You know what she had the cheek to say to me as I was leaving?

"Don't come back unless it's to buy products from the store".
