I've been on Staywarm for the past two years and just got an increase.
Could somebody more knowledgeable tham me advise if this would benefit me please.
I 'm not an online customer, pay by monthly direct debit.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Thanks to OP.
Rang 0800 015 1712 and swapped me over , no probs, as already on energy online.
Doesn't lower my DD payments as i'm a low user but should save about £30 a year, which is better in my pocket

Good spot. I just moved away to Southern but this tariff makes them cheaper again so i'm switching back right away and claiming the £35 quidco cash to boot!Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0

It's crap that they want you to pay DD to be accepted. I've been a loyal paying customer for quite a few yrs now, and never received any discounts.0

Do you have onebill (ie both your gas and electricity charges appear on a single statement) and pay by fixed DD? The discount should show under the summary section of the statement, which is on the back of page 1 of the bill.0 -
Nice to get no hassle. Just rang up and a nice cheery voice answered straight away and arranged the transfer. "Isn't it a good deal", she said, "I've changed to this one myself". And being an 0800 number - how nice not to have to wait an eternity whilst selecting different option numbers.

I recall being advised when I joined a few months ago, that your direct debit
will start at a minimum of £80.(£40 for gas and £40 for elec.)
Having now received my first bill they may agree to reduce your direct debit.Mine is now £50 a month as I assume I will use about £600 pa.A quick call to the number above changes it.
Be careful with this as you will need to keep an eye on your usage against your payments.Bear in mind if you have just joined your biggest bill should be your first.Oh and check your final reads from your previous supplier against your new Powergen first bill.
Of course we don't want them to be hanging onto a huge credit but then we don't want to be too far behind in the summer months especially.
Hope this helps someone0 -
Just been told by Powergen that the Winter Saver discount applies only when switching to their dual fuel.
This is not reflected in the comparison sites which show the discount in the 'Electricity only' sections.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks,
John0 -
There is a tariff called Electricity Online Winter Saver, which as the name suggests is for electricity only customers. The standard discount on this is %% but you get 16% until 31 Jan 2008.
As long as you are eligible for it (ie pay by monthly DD, manage your account online and have a standard or E7 meter), then you should be able to switch on to it. Call them back and if the person you speak to won't put you on it ask to speak to manager.0
