well he sounds like a keeper! NOT!
Why should he work? you are paying him to stay at home!
Ok its sunk in - no season ticket - but I'll have to keep paying all the bills otherwise we'll both end up in debt.
However he has still hung onto the basic sky package and this is something I'm not sure about - we only have an old box tele - can this be tuned in to a free box?0 -
erm ............ is he paying for the Sky package? Is he paying for anything ?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

As you have a satellite dish installed and a Sky set top box you can cancel Sky and get the free channels instead, or pay £20 to Sky for a Freesat from Sky Viewing Card which lasts for around five years - actually, you may not have to pay £20 but I'm not 100% - either way, you can get free channels with your existing equipment, and Freeview set top boxes can be picked up for £10 now if you prefer Freeview.
ETA: According to the FAQ from Sky you'll need to buy a £25 Freesat from Sky card to use your existing system for Sky's Freesat service.

Some people have reported not needing to pay, or the existing viewing card working fine though.0 -

Just sounds like a big kid to me as on the one hand theres no jobs out there for anyone and on the other everyone else is a season ticket holder - surely other people are having to go without.
There are jobs just not in abundance, if he wants a season ticket let him find the money somehow , let me know when you are through with him :j0 -

If there was an ounce of fairness in this person, he'd be running the entire household while you go out to work. He'd be decorating, gardening, washing the car etc ... In short, he'd be so damned relieved and thankful to have you, he'd be almost licking your boots in gratitude.
So, tell me - you called him your Other Half - which half of your joint responsibilities and burdens is he shouldering?
And as for you feeling 'miffed'!? Any partner of mine would be lucky to escape with all his limbs intact if I discovered such selfish, lazy, and disloyal behaviour. He didn't even have the guts to tell you what he'd been up to!
You don't have to let him drag you down into debt, you know. You can suggest that he trots on home to Mummy since it's quite clear that's what he wants, not a partner with whom to share all the things that life brings.0 -
Darling, you are being taken for a ride. And cynically, too. He needs booting out and right away before he drags you down with him0

Ditch the Sky and any other 'luxuries' that you pay for where he reaps the benefits. Cut the plug off the TV.
Tell him he finds a job - any job - and he can buy his season ticket out of his second paypacket (first goes solely to you).
You are carrying this joker and the longer you leave it the worse it will get.

Yes you can cancel Sky - we did when son moved out but I still get free channels throguh the dish - and we did nothing.
Make sure you keep seperate accounts - or you'll be worse still.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

...and when the debts have piled up (in your sole name, probably!) and you are the one in deep doodoo, will he support you in your hour of need or do you think he's the sort to kiss the problem goodbye when he discovers that your generous little honeypot is empty?
Come to think of it, if he would only stand up and be a man, there wouldn't even BE an hour of need, would there?0
