You are doing, which is great, it's what we all hope we would do and our partners would do for us.
But if he's not earning, then he can't afford a season ticket. It's not like you've got loads of spare money so you can't afford it either. If he wants to be able enjoy his hobbies of football and gambling then he needs to get a job. Failing that, then kicking a ball round the local park is free!0 -
Sounds like someone is taking advantage!:(
How is he about looking for a job?
He is applying but I can't help but feel I would have found something myself by now even if it was working behind a bar - I have taken whatever I have needed to in the past to make sure money is put on the table, and not always managed it, gone without and run up some debt.
Can't work out if the excuse 'its hard times' is valid. The job hunting did come to a stop but when I found what he had been gambling he did shake up a bit. But stripping the wall paper of four walls and painting a ceiling is not a lot to show for a year (apologies for rant)0 -
Not being funny, but unless you are based in Australia, its not really the time to be buying a season ticket - the clue is in the name, and the season started in August for football! So does he really want a season ticket or does he really want more money to gamble? If I were being really generous, and had the money (which it sounds like you don't so this is rather academic) I'd be inclined to offer him a deal whereby if he can show he hasn't shoved money down the drain by gambling since the last match, you will give him the money for the game at the weekend. If you were to simply say no, that would be fair enough in my book as he's had the money and wasted it - like a child he needs to learn you can only spend it once and if he's chosen to spend it on making the local bookmaker rich, he can't spend it again.Adventure before Dementia!0

I suppose you could always tell him he spent his season ticket money on bets that lost.
I did but he did the old I'm depressed routine. I have to pay my garage bill and I have water coming through my roof. I've asked him to ring the builder but he said he wouldn't know what to say - ahhh0 -

I didn't twig - he just said they had to buy them now to get them for next year - thinking about it the finals for this year aren't until May. Oh and ther reason for not going to each individual game was cos he couldn't sit near his mates. God I'm a t*t0 -

No not married - he doesn't do marriage0 -
well he sounds like a keeper! NOT!
Why should he work? you are paying him to stay at home!0 -
Just a check - does he already have a season ticket, and which team does he support. If he doesn't and its one of the big ones like Arsenal or Man U, you have to pay just to join a waiting list to get a season ticket at present!Adventure before Dementia!0

He is a season ticket holder and always has been since the day dot - in fact probably since the day he could afford it. Just sounds like a big kid to me as on the one hand theres no jobs out there for anyone and on the other everyone else is a season ticket holder - surely other people are having to go without.0 -
Drop the boy...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
