  • Can anyone help me. My tax credits go into my account every friday but were not in yesterday i phoned tax credits who said they didnt receive my renewal and to phobe back with my renewal information to do it on the phone!! i dont know if im going to get the paument i was due yesterday??? i sent my renewal weeks ago.
  • Hi - this is my first time on here so pardon me if someone has already asked this question. I am 31, currently work full time and claim working tax credit. I have no children and am single. I have Crohns disease and Fibromyalgia and am really struggling to continue working full time. If I was to reduce my hours due to these medical conditions and work four days each week, instead of five (still working over 30 hours), would my tax credits be increased to help make up the difference? I cannot afford to lose out financially but my health is suffering due to my job being very stressful which, in turn, makes my medical conditions flare up. I only get approx £70 per month in tax credits due to my salary and am not in receipt of any other benefits. Thanks for any advice you may have.

If your income this tax year goes down by more than £2500 since last year you'll get more tax credits, otherwise they'll go up but not till April. Try the turn2us calculator http://www.turn2us.entitledto.co.uk

Have you looked into getting DLA, maybe start a new thread if you want advice on this, because you can get extra tax credits too then.

I sent off my renewal end of June and haven't heard anything but have been paid up to last week. I checked my bank this morning and I have nothing in there from tax credits.

I am a single mum with 2 children, I have been self employed since January and obviously don't have a massive income due to starting up so I should be receiving something. Surely if I was not entitled to anything then I woulconfit be paid. Will be giving them a ring today to see what is going on but my daughters nursery fees have to be paid.

My wtc will stop wont they as my daughter finishes nursery and starts school on 10th September which isn't a problem but up until then I thought I would be paid.

My wife and I have joint income of £37,100. I work 38 hours a week, she is self-employed and works 12 hours a week. We have 2 x 13 year olds in full time education.

Last year our award for Child Tax Credit was £545.34.

    This year it is nothing.

Our circumstances/income etc haven't changed so why is there no Tax Credit this year?

    What's changed?

    Cheers

The thresholds have been lowered, so some people who got it last year are no longer entitled. We are in a similar situation to yours, but our income in a few thousand lower and our tax credit had also dropped to nowt for this year.

I got a provisional letter today!
All details of next years estimates are there but still an estimate on last years earnings(even though they know them)

Is it right to receive this? Should it not have been the award notice? Or do I get both?

Tried phoning but there's a message on their lines saying they cant take calls at the moment.

Been 10 weeks so far, just want it done now lol

    Thank in advance

  • Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I have to start somewhere.
Is there a calculator where I can work out what I would be entitled to in Child tax credit and working tax credit if I get a job I'm applying for? I know what the gross wage is for the job and the number of hours.

    thanks

You could try inputting your details on the ENTITLEDTO website. Or failing that go to the HMRC tax credits website which will give you the figure you would be entitled to for the rest of the tax year , then it would be a matter of dividing the amount by the weeks remaining in this tax year (which is from now to 5th April 2013)
The loopy one has gone :j
