hi can somebody shed some light on this for me pls...on my annual review for year ended 05/04/2012 it says we will decide on the 31/07/2012 that:the final amount of your tax credits award for the period 02/12/2011 to 05/04/2012 is 2829.96 and your tax award for 2012/2013 will be as shown in the payments section. Now does this mean they still owe me this?? or this is what ive had?? so confused lol x
It's the amount of your award for that period. So add up what you'd had, if it's less then they owe you the difference, if it's more you owe them.

Just going through our form for 2011-2012 and realised it still says I work 40 hours when I haven't for nearly 2 years.

Will this affect things? DH works full-time earned £36,000 for year ending April 2012. I don't work and have no income. We have been receiving around £40 per month in tax credits and have never claimed for the childcare element.

    Can anyone please advise?
No it won't make any difference, just make sure they're using the right income. But best tell them anyway, if your husband's hours ever dropped below 30 then it would matter.

We are just waiting for the figures from our accountant to enable us to complete tax credit form. We should get the figures on Thursday which gives us until next Tuesday to get the form in. Is it best that we send the form by recorded next day delivery - do they allow this?

I know we can phone in but I am guessing the lines are going to be pretty busy over the next few days.

I'm not sure about the post, but I called yesterday and was put through in 20 minutes or so which I thought wasn't *too* bad. I think it is a low cost call.

Had yet another letter today, final decision 2012 - 2013. We are entitled to £0!! So it looks like i'm signing on and jobhunting forever, even though i'm heavily pregnant.

How many children? What was your joint gross income last year? Did you give them an estimate for this year, if so what - it should be everything you're likely to earn this tax year including anything you've earned so far this year, any contribution based JSA, and any maternity pay over £100pw (but that won't apply in you case I guess...)

    2010/11?? Do you mean 2011/12?

Was it income based or contribution based JSA? The job centre should have sent you a P60 by now, if not can you work it out from your bank statements? There is an estimate box on the tax credits form but don't think it applies to social security income, it's meant for self employed and those who do tax returns.

1 and another on the way, but obviously that doesnt count until it's born. i think it's because i was on a full time wage last year so we were near enough £29000 (cant remember exactly) sounds a lot but having a baby takes it!
they have the estimate for this year and know im unemployed and on JSA, still £0. I am looking for a job but can only apply for temp/casual as they dont need to worry about maternity then. even then i doubt i'll get anything until after this one is born.
