Hiya Ticktactoe just get your paperwork ready e.g receipts or statements, P60, bank statement, payslips.

At least you will have a head start if they contact you unlike I did.

If you need to know as it stressing you so much, why not call and ask are they checking your childcare?

Are you panicing as you have claimed wrongly?

Thanks for the negative reply !!
  • Hiya all...

Just a couple of quick questions which i'd be very grateful for any advice...

    1) I've been claiming working tax credits since February 2011 but have now stopped working as of Monday. I'm going to give them a call tonight but does anybody know whether i'll get the 4 week run on? If so, do you have to apply for it, or do they pay you it automatically when you end your claim... As in the past when i've claimed I haven't been paid after the date I told them I was no longer working.

    2) I received my renewal pack yesterday, and called them up straight away with detail of my income etc and the lady on the phone processed the renewal, but couldn't tell me if I had an over or underpayment, and that I would find out either when the money from an underpayment hit my bank account, or when I got a letter stating I owed them money.

Now my earnings for tax year 09-10 was £0.00 as I didn't work at all... and my estimated earnings for year 10-11 was £3500.
    My actual income was £2161.
I know I earnt less than they thought I would, but don't really fully understand how tax credits work so cannot figure out if i'm due a refund... Or owe them money for that matter, although I wouldn't have though I could owe them money when I've over-estimated, could I? :S

One last question with regard to JSA, if anyone reading this knows...

Does anyone know how long the processing time currently is? I put my claim in yesterday and have my work focused interview next Thursday... No idea when i'll sign on (more than likely be the following Monday), but i'd like to have some idea of when i'll be looking to receive a payment from them...

Thanks so much for any help / advice :)

Your entitlement is based on your gross income. Don't deduct the tax paid.
Don't tell them you are going on maternity leave until it actually starts and only if you think your income this tax year will be significantly less than last year.

    Good evening
Just a quick one I have just renewed my WTC and advised them as always I take part in salary sacrifice.

They have asked for a list of documents.

They have asked that I send to them specific information and am hoping that you may be able to help.
    My original contract of employment.
Contract of variation for EACH scheme I have entered for 2010-2011.
Payslips before I entered my new salary sacrifice scheme 2009-2010 and a payslip for after sacrifice 2010-2011.
Agreement between XXX and EACH benefit provider.
Also any published documents sent to employees with information of various schemes.
I work for the 4th largest company in the the world and guess what the have no idea what the tax office is talking about and further more they can only provide 2 items out of the 5 required.
I have been advised to tick the estimated box on claim form.
They want documents to see if I can use my gross salary or salary after sacrifice.
Any one have any ideas xxx :rotfl:

What was your income from, if you didn't work?

I'm sure someone will be along to answer your questions soon.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • 2009-2010 I earnt £0.00 due to not working.

2010-2011 I'd estimated to earn £3500, but only earnt £2161. This it through employment.

Sorry if I worded things slightly confusing!
