I ordered two pairs of sunglasses from Glasses Direct online. I rang them up and said I needed them by a certain date, ie less than a week, and both arrived. They even sent them separately, as one pair took longer to make, to ensure I had one pair to go on holiday. There is a 14-day period in which you can return free of charge if you don't like them. While I was away, I emailed to say one pair didn't suit me, but I would not be back within 14 days. They responded that it was fine to return them when I got home.
First-class service from Glasses Direct and every person I spoke to on the phone or emailed was very helpful.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

I was emailed a 10% discount code from SelectSpecs after I entered their competition to win free glasses for life.
The competition was free to enter, I just had to enter my name and email address. The comp is open until May 31st 2014 @ 11pm

I used the current £10/10% off deal at reglazemyglasses.com as mentioned in latest MSE email and ordered a pack for my glasses to be sent to them.
I'm afraid it went straight in the bin today as it was sent without them typing my street address on the envelope and order letter. The email confirmation I received had my full address but the postman had to write my house number and street to get it to me. I'm just lucky he knows me!
This sloppiness leaves me no confidence they have a proper quality check and that my glasses won't get lost in the post on the way back to me. I won't be using them regardless of how good a deal it is so if you get a pack check they have input your correct address.0 -
The GLASSESDIRECT offer is a con
You DO have to pay for the actual lenses - it is just the coatings that (can be) free !!
So - your initial £55 for 2 pairs - is raised to at least £65 - still cheap for 2 pairs - but please get your facts right !!0 -

The way our system works is that when someone fills out a form on our website, all of that information is automatically ported into our database. So as along as the info is entered in correctly by the user, it is that address that will be used for delivery of the glasses, as the dispatch label is generated directly from that.
The pack system works slightly differently. Each day we will download a spreadsheet from the website that links into our online form. We then do a mail merge in a well known office word processing program. Unfortunately on this occasion the "address block" that is mapped to the relevant data on the spreadsheet had for some reason dropped the first line of address.
This mail merge method is only ever used to print all the address labels and customer info forms for the new packs that are requested off the website. Its done on mass like this every day because there are too many packs to get out on a daily basis, that doing each one individually would take too long.
When we send glasses back to the customer though, we do print each label out individually from our customer management system, which will always have the full and correct address on.
Kind regards

I wanted 2 pairs of (low) prescription specs, one to be polarised sunglasses. This was the buy one get one free deal.
Had to do the order by phone as no option for polarised lenses on website.
Had already emailed them twice about this option and then emailed my prescription.
Another week later they emailed to say the frames I'd chosen were out of stock and would I choose an alternative, which I did.
Another week later they emailed to advise me polaroid lenses could not be fitted in the semi-rimless style chosen. My original choice were also semi-rimless?
I rang them to complain about all this ridiculous faffing about which could have been avoided if they were on the ball and told them to cancel the order and refund my money.
They had my money for more than a month (around £120) and did nothing for it. Total disaster. Don't go there.
Now I get ad's and emails popping up everywhere. Be warned.0 -
I've tried from a couple of different browsers, phone, desktop, different ISPs, all have the same result, "network error" or failure to connect.
Anyone else having the same experience?0 -

checkout http://www.perfectglasses.co.uk/index.htm currently have 70% off some specs with free lenses and coatings. just got mine for £29.95 including postage they were originally £83. Offer ends on Sunday
update looks like offer has been extended evrything 70% off0 -
Tried this following the 'Reglaze My Glasses' deal in Martin's weekly email. Sent off request, received return box FoC and sent frames back postage paid. Good so far. However, then received an invoice via email for £52.90. Deal was to have lens replacement for £10.00! To get anywhere near this you have to keep disputing the invoice to get rid of all the add ons.
Not worth the hastle. Rather wait for another 'Glasses Direct' code and get 2 new pairs for £25.00.0
