  • This offer of £75 designer specs for a mere £25 is non-existant! The offer applies only to specs that have no other discount deals, e.g. 2-for-1, attached to them; and not one pair of the £75 designer specs on the website fits that bill. It's a ploy to get us to look at the so-called bargain and end up spending our 75 quid, come away with a second "free" pair of specs and think we've got ourselves a great deal. Grrrr. Time-wasters!
  • Highly recommend a new service at amazon.co.uk. A friend said Google this number 0800 433 2020 and click the link.

Highly professional, very experienced straight talking people. 1st class service free postage and I saved £197 on my varifocal lenses. I have crystal clear vision without any distortion or fuzziness. Getting the same deal on the wife's this week saving another £197.
    Very Happy Chappy

  • Just ordered 2 pairs of glasses for £22.95 including delivery from glasses direct using the GD23DEC code - awesome!

Don't know what they'll be like when they arrive but worth the risk for £23. I was thinking I'd be spending £100 plus on the high street which i don't actually have so in a bit of a pickle given that current Vision Express pair is held together with sellotape.

Anyway, if anyone misses the deadline tomorrow or fancies trying for even more discount they gave me this link:

Edit: can't put a link in as a newbie. PM me for my name that's all you need to enter during check-out.

Yes it does benefit me by giving me £20 at amazon, but hey - I'm wearing glasses held together with sellotape - I need it!

Thanks MSE! (Maybe I should wait til they arrive but very pleased!)
  • I used your codes and ordered a pair for myself and my husband. Got a call from them to ask why I had added two different perscriptions, explained it was a pair for myself and husband and they seemed surprised. They then told me they need a copy of both of our perscriptions, and for us to send in a paid of old specs each so they can measure them. Not really the speedy service I was hoping for so I have cancelled my order, as whenever I have ordered glasses online before they have never asked for any of this. Seems like they are trying to make things difficult. Have asked for a refund - hopefully that will be a smoother process?:money:

I need to replace my varifocal specs. I have searched the posts and it looks as if Glasses Direct and Speckyfoureyes are the only not too recent mentions.
Can anybody please confirm/recommend either of the above or another?
    Many thanks

I just ordered the £19 Bench glasses from speckyfoureyes as described Main glasses MSE page.

I kept all the defauts to get the cheapest price and all worked well. I have a follow up tip.

Shortly after i placed my order i got a follow up mail offering me an upgrade to the specky2 package for £9 rather than £19, so if you wanted the scratch resistant coating may be better to not place t on your main order but add it via a follow up deal, worst case if you don't get the mail you could always contact them after and ask them to add it.
Appologies for any bad spelling in my posts i do my best but they are unavoidable.
  • I had appointment after appointment cancelled by Tesco in Bristol. The Tesco was some miles away from where I lived, I went to the first appointment only to be told they didn't have an optician that day, so wasted time and fuel. The staff said they hadn't had an employed optician for months, and had to rely on locums who often didn't turn up.
The second appointment they cancelled the evening before, I declined the 3rd attempt and went to my local Boots.

If you want a several months of hell use GREGORY PEX

They mess up, try to blame you, can't communicate with them, by not replying to voicemails/emails.

Mess up again, send underpaid postage for return envelope. Have to pay that plus the difference to cover any potential loss insurance

Mess up again, won't refund trying to blame us for something that was damaged in transit.

If you want a hard time and useless glasses, use them

  • I ordered my prescription sunglasses on Tuesday and they arrived today (Friday). Good price at £20 and good quality glasses.
