Would have liked to order a pair but I can't read my prescription doh!!

Sphere is clear enough but then I appear to have something like Add +1.15 and can't make out the rest of the writing. Never mind maybe next time. LOL
The Add +1.15 is only needed when the glasses are for reading. If buying distance specs it can be ignored.

This code is now coming up as expired despite MSE saying it's been extended!!

I've just paid £340 for 1 pair of glasses and 1 pair of sunglasses from Vision Express and am still smarting from the cost. I would love to take advantage of the value of online glasses but how do you know they'll suit you? I must spend a good hour trying on glasses before I find a pair that I like, so how do you overcome this when shopping online?

Try glassesdirect they send frames to try before you buy.
  • For cheaper specs try selectspecs.com Thet start at £6!!
  • I've just tried to order 2 pairs from LensWay and the postage has been removed when I applied the code and not reduced the specs at all. I don't want to pay £49.30 each if they are offered at £29!!

Heres a little warning for those using GlassesDirect.
I bought a Groupon voucher for £24 getting me £59 off. All good.

Went to order them today with my 1 pair free offer and what do i see ..... 40% off splashed all over the site.
I cant use both codes so the Groupon gets me down to £108. 40% off gets me down to £112.

In buying a £24 voucher ive saved £4, essentially leaving me £20 worse off.

So, dont use groupon for Glasses Direct, just keep waiting for deals to come up.

    Hope that helps someone.

Same here - Lensway code only reduces to £49.30 +free shipping
Update - you need to select the 1.5 lenses(bronze) to get the glasses for 29.00

I just got my sunglasses from Mister Spex - (only online designer glasses and sunglasses) and they sent me a code anyone can use - Spexyeyewear2011
I'm completely happy with my Oakleys  and they come with guarantees etc. The code is only 5% though, but off anything (i.e. contact lenses too)
    enjoy

    Eight Euros shipping though??:(

Just got 2 pairs of Vera Wang specs from Lensway @ £29 each - although postage still seemed to be included? Or something was anyway, because the total came to £67.95. Anyway, since I bought the 2 pairs I'd tried on in Tesco opticians which were priced at £120 BOGOF plus £30 each for anti-reflective coating, it's a bargain anyway. :j

Oh, and JVRMac, I bought ones I'd tried on in an opticians first. Won't work for unbranded I suppose, but if you're picking designer ones you can just choose them in a shop then buy the same ones online for less than half the price. :D

Editing to add; just checked, and one pair has come up at £29 with the other at £38.95..... no idea why. They were both marked as not being part of the offer, although the voucher reduced the prices of both, just not to £29. Very odd! Still FAR cheaper than at the optician though, and they were the specific frames I wanted so I'm still pleased.
