Yep - I chose a ( Lensway ) pair which cost £39 as I loved them more than the £49 ones!
Am very happy as only paid £6.75 for postage - Hope they are as nice as look in the pic - Have never ordered glasses online before but this was TOO good an offer to miss and even encouraged me to get my eyes tested again for a new prescription after more than 2 years..0 -

Yes - I got a £49 pair with standard lenses, I thought they need to verify the prescription but there was no where to enter opticians details. Does any one know if they do in fact verify the prescription?
There as some insurance and postage, £7.20 so for a spare pair it should be good.
I had already chosen the glasses and had enter payment details and was trying the voucher code, swapping it between the actual code and a dummy code, this meant the website was swapping between a message of 'voucher invalid' and 'voucher not recognised' or something like that. And the deal kicked in a couple of minutes before 5pm according to my clock. As soon as the voucher was accepted I click the payment :-)
I'm not sure about a couple of things,
1. the shipping and billing addresses are differnet but the payment went through with only the shipping address (work) so not sure if they will be able to take payment OK.
2. The post code I entered had a typo in '!' instead of '1' which I know from past experience can cause the delivery services to fall apart in that the package ends up in the distribution center for a few weeks before a human actually gets to read the Adress.
Any how fingers cross that it all work as first time doin git online and had to measure my own PD, as it was not on the optical perscription. I will make sure I ask for the PD (distance between pupil) next time I get the eyes tested.
Kind regards

My wife and I have been ordering our glasses from zennioptical.com for the past few years and I get my rimless glasses for US$37 (about £25) which includes the lens, frame and delivery. You can get rimless for as little as US$19!!!!! again including lenses. The web site is be a bit slow as it is a USA site, so please be patient. Also the glasses are produced and sent from China so take a couple of weeks to get here.
At this price my wife can afford a pair of glasses to match each of her outfits!!!!!!0 -

SPECS2010 used to be the code for 30% off prescription glasses from mister spex but it has stopped working. Does anyone have an update? SPECS2011 doesn't work!0

This sector seems to be so fraught with danger and traps for the unwary (like myself) that I wonder if it wouldn't be an idea to have some kind of "at-a-glance" poll of good and bad providers. In other words a sort of list with as many providers as possible, where people can give simple feedback - i.e "positive", "neutral", "negative" (and in the case of selectspecs " ***ing horrendous")
I know there are threads like this one, that are valuable for detailed experiences, but these can take time to wade through and many people might not bother posting, especially if they have good experiences. I would have found it invaluable to have seen a poll which showed selectspecs had say, an 80% negative rating (which I suspect would be the case) and that another company had a good rating. I could then consult the relevant threads for more detailed information.
Anyway, I'm off to a High Street provider next week. I'm wary of taking the risk of banging my head against a cyberspace brick wall until this sector becomes a lot more transparent and simple to assess - at the moment it seems to be a total lottery. I don't know why, but I don't seem to have come across anything like this in my other experiences of buying online.
The extra I'll spend on the High Street is worth the hassle. I know I only lost a tenner, but if you factor in the pure stress, inconvenience and time wasted trying to get a resolution it was a false economy - at least in my case. Those with more patience might be OK, but the world of online spectacles is not for me.0 -
i ordered on the day but haven't received my order yet, despite it being sent 14 March (last Monday) ....
i wonder what the £4.99 'priority delivery' meant?0 -
I ordered specs from them and they never arrived and they refuse a refund . I have to fill in a form and wait another month. Please avoid this firm they are terrible. Takes them ages to answer emails and it not easy to get their email.
