Have you ever wondered why it's you that has all the problems with every other driver out there, and we don't appear to.
Is it because the nuisance drivers come to random money saving forums on the internet to preach about other driving who just want to make reasonable progress?
There are only about 1% of the people from this forum actually commenting. Well done, you've got a 1% majority“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

For me when overtaking the rules are simple;
Make sure it's safe, ie, you have the power, the clear road, and above all the confidence to either carryout the manouever of cut and drop back if you have it wrong.
In doing this a signal is imperative and a quick flash of the headlights as you press the go pedal also ensures the car in front has actully seen you.
I also have to add it is equally as important to ensure the driver behind you isn't trying the same overtake.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

definitely yes

I don't agree with the usage of flashed headlights. That's not a normal use of them, and if you did that to me I'd assume my exhaust was falling off, or something similar.
I also have to add it is equally as important to ensure the driver behind you isn't trying the same overtake.
Most definitely yes.0 -

I do this round here passing tractors, so they keep in to the left, otherwise they bounce all over the road and stuff you up the verge on the right.
Usually sound the horn after passing, double bip to say thanks as well.0 -
Officially, flashing of headlights is to warn others of your presence. Not to signal "omgz... dewd your exhaust is falling off!".
However it's used for just about everything these days......
I think any signal or light flash is highly likely invoke rage in drivers today.
I regularly thank people who move over on the dual carriageway (instead of hogging the lane), a simple single hazards flash does the job (because I can't do the usual left/right flash due to soft touch controls) and I think they appreciate it and are hopefully more willing to do the same in future.
However even this gesture has been taken the wrong way!Whereas you are on your own.
Au contraire, the school playground like behaviour simply puts people off posting.
I could have 99% of the forum behind me for all you know“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'm not bothered by my MPG. Life too short to worry about it and taking longer to get anywhere. If you're that hung up, you're probably too poor to own a car anyway, god knows what condition safety wise its in.0

omg dewd...
..using flashing your headlights in a 'non-official' way is bad, yet you advocate using your hazard lights to say 'thank you'?I think any signal or light flash is highly likely invoke rage in drivers today.
I think this is only likely to apply to you and other highly strung drivers0 -

I somehow don't think you'll ever represent a silent majority.0 -

People become obsessed with the acceleration part. Providing that the acceleration is not pointless then it doesn't matter if it's at a high rate. Somewhere like 75% of maximum would be a good operating area I'd guess.Happy chappy0
