    ^^ camera saves the day :)

    Some guy in a transit swerved sharply into my lane this morning, it was a tight squeeze! I was stuck out on the right hand lane as the left was crawling to a stop, but I did actually need the right hand lane... One car had gone past already and he'd decided to straddle both lanes, then I came along and he obviously thought he'd teach me a lesson. I don't even know why people were all sitting in the left hand lane, it's not as if the road merges, it just leads down to the next traffic island!!!

    Camera was running the whole time, just in case ;)

    And yes, you can fail a driving test for driving too slowly. However this would be more along the lines of driving at 30 in a 60. 40 I would suspect would be a borderline case (I don't know the details). I can't see anyone failing for 65 in a 70, or even 50.

    I don't now of any circumstances where driving examiner would take a learner onto a road with a seventy mile per hour speed limit. ;)

    Wrong, you posted this earlier;

    Driving test examiners will expect a test candidate to keep up with the flow of traffic and if the conditions allow they will expect the candidate to be able to demonstrate that they can drive safely at the speed limit and make adequate progress. If they drive at a speed which is below the speed limit in conditions which are deemed safe to drive faster then they will be failed for this.

    That is 100% incorrect.

    That would mean that a test candidate that drove or rode at 65 to 68 mph on a clear national speed limit dual carriageway would fail automatically, that simply is not the case.

    And your source for this is?

    I was. (Briefly). short run of the A66. OK it's pretty much impossible to actually get to 70 unless you had a sports car but 70 it was.

    Not likely on a driving test.
