nor do I speeding in built up areas is unforgivable in my book
  • If you're incapabable of using your mirrors, indicitating & manouvering past a car going 50mph on a motorway then I suggest that it's you who is the danger on the road & shouldn't be driving & not me! As for the lorry comment all lorrys have limiters that doesn't allow them to go more the 56mph which is fine cos on a clear road I can go up to 60mph!

I've yet to see a policeman do a motorist for doing 50mph on a motorway so please tell me how I need additional training?

I'm perfectly capable of doing those manoeuvres - nothing I said indicated otherwise. The fact remains that your driving strategy is not best practise so I dont think you should be criticising other drivers who may be driving safely (more safely than you) and within the law.

A good driver will make reasonable progress while being unobtrusive to other road users. By the sounds of it you fail on both counts.

Dont belive me though - I recommend you buy a copy of this book if you want to learn to drive safely:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roadcraft-drivers-handbook-Essential-Handbook/dp/0117021687/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295442425&sr=8-1

Alternatively you could book a driving assessment with the IAM - its only £25 and you could discuss the issues with them.

You wouldn't be laughing when he see's you laughing and gets out of the car.

I know you wouldn't be laughing, because i've done just that......

Do you mean you've locked yourself in the car?

I have a 14" stillson, and an 18" crowbar in the tools in my car, (in the car, not the boot)
If I like you, I'll hit you with the stillson, if I don't I'll hit you with the crowbar, (it's sharp).

I won't go out of my way to have a fight, but to be honest, if you want to start one, if I can't drive off, and I've given you enough chances to keep driving, fair play then. But I still won't be stressed over it.

Or better still, buy the official version, the IAM, although well intentioned, is not officially recognised.

C,mon Strider, this really is getting ridiculous now.

I'm driving 50mph on the inside lane how is that 'obtrusive' so by your deifinition cars towing caravans should be banned to right?

Listen if a person wants to drive 50mph on a motorway then fine, there is the outside lane to overtake that's what it's there for! If you're incapable to do this & get annoyed or upset by someone who drives that speed then maybe you need to take a look at yourself & your own driving habits! I've no problem with people who travel at 70mph that's there porogative just as mine it to travel at 50mph! I deem 50mph as 'reasonable progress' someone else may not that's fair enough however by law I'm doing nothing wrong & I'm sure many driving examiners wouldn't see a problem in driving 50mph at all!

That wasn't strider, that was me.

I won't look for a fight, in fact I've never had one. Walked away from them all. It doesn't mean I won't though, and if someone has a roadrage, and tries it on, it still won't be me though. The car is filled with tools normally, I work with my hands, and I'm not going to be off work with a broken finger either.
Just one more thing to consider before picking a fight with a motorist driving at 50mph.
It's not worth losing it for the sake of a few minutes.

I'm not getting annoyed - you're the one coming on here criticising people who dont drive as you do.

The difference between you and me is that I acknowledge I can improve as a driver and I'm taking active steps to study better driving techniques which I then try to practise.

You, on the other hand, are oblivious to why your actions may not be best practise and think everyone should drive like you. You think that by driving slower this automatically makes you a better driver - this is not the case IMO.
