I would prefer the old system of any new previously unposted comps to go on the Main Board using the current heading format of E: DD/MM.

If that competition is a daily/weekly/monthly entry then the link to it can also be forwarded on for inclusion into the separate areas of Regular Comps.

Comps for entry on by a postal, text and phone route not to be posted on the Main Board.

I would love to see a better format for posting comps. Too often threads are needlessly bumped up. I suggest the heading and text details to contain, as a minimum, the closing date, a description of the prize(s), quantity of prizes, which company is offering the prize, a link to the T&C perhaps highlighting any T&C that are out of the norm. (EG flights not included, only one entry per household).

The only other suggestion I have found useful is those kind posters who include an indication that the comp can be entered via social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook etc.

I am new and probably don't have a weighted opinion, but I have only glanced at the regulars board, I only really enter the ones on the main board.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao
  • As cornishpasty1 has said, I also think that comps should be posted on the main board and a link sent to regular board - Just my humble opinion

Out of interest, what's the maximum amount of time a redirect can last for? And do they show on the board in the order by their original title so for example 'E: 01/01 Win...' would be 'Moved E: 01/01 Win...' in the same place as it would have been had it not had the 'Moved' bit infront?

I've just thought of what could be a perfect solution, but it depends on these things!

Bear with me and I'll try and explain :D

If a redirect could be left indefinitely and they show up in the order of the title, then could everything be posted on the main board AND then moved over to the regulars with an indefinite redirect in it's place on the main board?

I reckon this would work for everyone as it would still be listed on the main board (which would help both people that comp as they're posted AND people that comp by end date) but then in turn it also helps people that use the regulars board as the redirect would go to the post that's in there?

Edited to add: If everything was posted on the main board it would really rely on everyone to send the links to be put into the daily, weekly and monthly stickies. One problem I can see with posting everything on the main board and leaving it there is that a lot of the regulars are posted without end dates because they go on indefinitely, how (in what format I mean) would these be posted on the main board?

Sorry to ask this dim question but why do we need a regular board? 4.gif

I've been here about 4 years & I've never used it, it does seem pointless to me.

I've not commented on this subject so far, as I don't want to cause offence to anyone who puts in so much effort to post and maintain comps - I really appreciate all the hard work that people do on this forum.

I don't have enough time to enter the comps on the main board, let alone go through all the ones in the regular section too, but the way I see things is that if a competition has varying answers or prizes with a distinct end date (whether that be every day, week, or month) then it should be on the main comp board for everyone to see

Thanks for the opportunity to say my bit, and thanks again to all that post

    I don't think it's a dim question at all!

I think the reason is that the regulars sooooo hard to find (if links have not been sent across to be put into the regular threads) amongst the main board 'one entry with one draw' comps (theres around 3500+ comps on the main board a lot of the time) and if you're working in end date view you'd miss all the ones until the end couple as you wouldn't come across it until you did ones ending for that day.

Is there anyone that comps by end date and doesn't use the regulars threads (ie. daily, weekly and monthly) to find the regular comps? If so, how do you come across them and when in relation to when they're posted?
