Now that I've tried using Regs, I actually found it ok, I caought up with all the comps, and now just need to check the stickies Even through i am new to regs, it would be very unfair if it got removed after so long, just because people cannot find time to try it.

I think there are less comps in the regs board overall than when you do the End of Month comps if you comp by End date - and once you've done then once, then you just need to check the stickies.

Posting them all on main, so that End Date compers don't miss out just wouldn't work for some comps. Daily comps would be posted so late and moved to Game over so quickly that if you comped by end date without going into GO you'd likely miss them, also the never ending comps, if you posted with a long date so they didn't get moved would not pop up when you searched by end date.

Why when so many people used the Advents thread is there so much back lash all of a sudden against Regs??? I found the Daily thread in there, really reminded me of doing the Advents and its even more User Friendly now - give it a go or have a look, its very different.

I also saw some newsletters which you could enter every month and I had never realised you could until I saw the the in regs. Theres also one time entry only comps that I have never seen before. Unless these were just moved over to main if monthlies went here, then I doubt they would be found again.

I forget who, but it was explained on the comps disscussion board that the format has changed for these now, and they have gone from being one time only entry to being daily entry.

I know I am repeating myself, but I am following this thread, and I think that before we can run a poll on keeping the or amending the Regs board we first need to define what comps would be classed as Regs. So I have quoted myself as I had made some sugestions earlier in this thread.

multiple entry - purchase required comps

comps with daily entry

comps with same prize repeating

comps with daily prize - same Q - different Q

comps with daily entry - same Q - different Q

then similair for weekly...

I don't think just because a site has a comp every week, that automatically means it is a reg comp, even if its the same url

I am sorry but in case this suggestion gets missed, I am shamelessly going to quote myself again, as this thread in itself proves a need as it was sooo hard to have this discussion in the main Discussion thread. I would be grateful for others views on the need for a Compers Chat Section as well

Whereas at the moment I agree that lots of topics get lost in this thread or in the Inn, iyswim. Also I can see that its hard to keep up with this thread, esp when theres a hot topic or a thread gets merged into it.

Im going to be blunt to you all now. This problem seems to stem from when certain daily comps started getting moved over to the regular board. We had not problems until that happened ie. the wotv, sci-fi etc.. comps.

I dont know why we couldnt go back to the old way and have those posted on the main board with the title E: 31/01 Daily entry win a tv. the monthly, weekly with no end date could stay on the regular board as they have been for years with no problems.

Those who state I dont have time to look on regular board so would prefer them to be on the main board, are just weird! where will you suddenly get the time from just cos they are posted on the main board. Are you that time pressed you cant click one additional button to take you to the regular board where you can enter from there???? The same comps would be on the main board so you would still need additional time to enter all of them!!

I think the best solution is to go back to how they were. The daily ones with end dates and different questions be posted on the main board and all the regulars stay where they are.

Also if we got rid of the regular board altogether it would be a lot more muddles on the main board with all monthly and weekly and daily mixed in with standard end date ones.

I pop on in my "free" time and go through the main comps board, I have a set time in the evening when I then go through the dailies. Weeklies and monthlies I only do when I have spare time, which is rarely.

I would like to see the regulars on the main board, but I would also like to see a separate part of that board for facebook/twitter comps - I see them mentioned in "I won" and realise I missed them.

I find it rather difficult comping by date - takes ages to find the right date to start with. Am I being dumb, is there a better way to comp by date on my flying visits?

Have to say that i totally agree with diva on this one, well said :T

On thinking it over i do actually think the main board would just be a complete mess if all the reg comps were posted there and linked, the majority of you dont as you say use the regs board so you are all condemning it without having used it, it needs to go back to how it used to be as diva said

bhg has done a fantastic job with the dailies but that is her system and you cant expect gilla or myself to do the same with weekly and monthlies, cant speak for gilla as she might change her's the way bhg does her's but im certainly not changing the monthlies as they are all mainly single sites and not like the dailies where some sites have multiple comps, i have them all in sections so its easy to see what you want to enter

If anyone feels they can do a better job than me, then feel free to take over, as i have enough to cope with as it is without changing the whole thread again!

brilliantly put divadee !! that is exacty what i have been wondering with regards to time. You put it perfectly. I too dont understand why people dont have the time to click one extra button. I also agree with divadee that it was great how it was and the regulars board is needed imo to prevent the main board being a huge muddle. Fab post diva exactly my posts put down in a great manner. Again huge thanks to all board guides and ppd bhg and anyone else who makes this baord fab xxxxxxxxxxx

I understand everyones point of view because we all comp differently, I was wondering if we could keep the regulars as they are and just replace the comp in the main board with a link to its place in the regulars board, that way there will be something on the main board to make you aware that a new comp has been posted but the post will then not get bumped on the main board. Also start all comps off on the main board because some do get put straight onto the regulars board and get missed that way. x

so way i'm reading it all (forgive me if i'm wrong)
everyone's in favour of having it all how it was before the comps started being moved,
so we get to keep the WOT's, etc that have been
being moved & keep them on main board

I prefer the comps posted on the main board with a link to regulars. It worked well like that in the past and means people (like me:)) who rarely go on regulars dont miss out and the comp posters have not wasted their time looking up and posting only for their comps to be missed!!
