Nope, doesn't have a DPF. the 1.8's didn't come with them
video from today, which I would say is more than enough evidence for the garage tomorrow...

it doesn't look blue to me, i would have said that was more grey.
it does sound a bit rough aswell,i know my 2.2 tdci transit sounds a bit rough when starting from cold but not as bad as this. does the noise change after a few minutes of running?...work permit granted!0 -
my phone doesn't pick the colour up very well, but i can guarantee it is 100% blue.
I don't have a camcorder or anything so not possible for me to get a better quality one just yet.
it sounds like that for about 10 mins, then it's perfectly fine and drives as it should.
I've also noticed that the bigger the incline the bigger the puff of smoke aswell.. as normally i park it on the street or flat on the drive, but left it at an angle overnight and thats the result. Going to do it again tonightThis thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
We can guess all day, long but the options posted are all still valid.
Does look like unburnt diesel to me regardless of colour. Engine noise could be a missfire do to incomplete combustion. Get the car in and put us out of our suspense.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Indeed, could be purple for all i care, just want it gone lol
feel like ripping my hair out tbh, they've had it all day, called at 4.45 'hi, we can't find anything wrong with it' - all they've done is plug it into the computer. which i told them had already been done.
Ford direct were suppose to liase with them, did they? no. apologised, but still not happy.
is it not possible for mechanics to diagnose problems without a computer these days?
waiting to see what ford direct say tomorrow now. This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
Well i've had enough now.
Ford are saying there's nothing wrong with it. The garage has done a diagnostic check on it and because there are no fault codes or anything there's nothing they can do. They say the glowplugs are fine.
Looks like we've just got to put up with the massive plumes of smoke and it running like a nail first thing in a morning.
Oh and "it can't possibly be an internal engine problem, because it'd need to be using a litre of oil per 1,000 miles" !!
I don't particularly want the car anymore, but have no choice.
Oh and they can't explain the smoke. This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
Well if they can't sort it in the Ford garage, there's not much chance over the net. It does tho', now the diagnostics and glowplug check have come back normal, seem to point more to a leak into the cylinders when stood. That can only come from the top end, ie valve stem seals and I can't think of much else. It won't be anything due to head gasket as that's under zero pressure when stood.
Problem is it's now obviousley not an issue that can be picked up by plug in. Only way is old fashined investigation, IE pull the engine apart:eek:, is it worth that issue to you?
I supose you could "ahem" somehow lose a ltr or 2 of oil over the next few K kmsI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

It is worth it, as it (was) an £18.5k car when we got it in September, after 8 days it had no coolant, after 2 months it starts bellowing smoke out the exhaust, after 4 months it starts running like a nail in the morn.
But the problem is, when we suggested leaking valve seals, they said they won't look at anything in the engine unless the computer gives them something to go on, which lets be honest will never happen.
Even thought about taking it to an independent garage and getting them to try and diagnose it, but Ford say they dont care what any other garage says.
Oh and forgot to say, they said we can't book it in again for same problem, because it's been to three garages and they all say it's fine. lolThis thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -

And what was the cause/solution to that? Was coolant merely topped up?0 -

That really is a disgrace, I would try to find the name and address of the MD of Ford UK and contact him/her.0
