Ages ago there was a recipe posted for bean burgers. Basically the ingredients were beans (what a surprise), onion, carrots, garlic, breadcrumbs, spices and egg.
I didn't make a note of who gave the recipe, but I made them yesterday and they are superb. I also had them cold in a bun with tomatoes for lunch today and they were excellent.
Thanks. :T They will become a fixture in the moany menu from now on.0 -
Thanks for the tip. I love beanburgers- I have fond memories of them from my vegetarian days. Do you mash the beans or anything? Is there a kind of bean that works best, or is a mixture a better bet?
Thank you muchly,

Yup Penny, this is the recipe. I should have known it was a Gingham Ribbon jobby.
I used Tesco value red kidney beans but I would use my frozen beans for a slightly different taste. I cook and freeze haricot beans,0 -

Hi all, I bought some stuffing mix from Asda yesterday for 15p. I have heard somewhere that you can make veggie burgers with this but having googled it I'm thinking I may be wrong. Has anyone heard of this or know of a recipe?0

I believe Weezl did something interesting with stuffing mix - see the 50p a day thread.
I will have a look myself and post a link if I find it, but thought you could have a gander there in the meantime.

I've not heard of a specific recipe but I can't see why it wouldn't work if you made up the stuffing mix, added some cubed cooked veg (carrots, onion, courgette, whatever you've got) mushed it all up into patties and grilled. Sounds pretty tasty really!0
