Once mixed with the whole egg if it's a bit too wet then add some breadcrumbs.

I haven't made veggie burgers but for beefburgers I sometimes bind with plain yogurt and/or some horseradish sauce. The other tip is to chill the mixture for as long as you can in the fridge before moulding the burgers as that seems to firm it up.
I don't have a burger press (would like one if anyone can recommend a brand that's mse) so I squash mine into a pastry cutter to get the shape.0 -

Never thought of using yoghurt or horseradish to bind but sounds good.
The pastry cutter idea is certainly MSE and seems as good as any. I bought a burger press in a kitchen shop, but can't remember where, but it makes huge burgers - it's about 3" across!

While we're on the subject, I would really love your recipe, I want to try making my own.
ThanksYou'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
I would love to try making vege burgers. I would think you could bind them with mashed potato, a bit like fishcakes?0

my recipe is boring, using up things in cupboard before online delivery.
Frozen Veg, Egg and Flour to bind.
Next time will add beans eg kidney.
Turned out well need a pastry cutter however.0 -
Add chopped up mozzarella or feta cheese to the mix.0

Adding beans is a good idea as it will increase the protein in the burgers. There's not much protein in burgers made with just veg and one egg.0

I've merged this with our veggie burger thread

Made GR veggie burgers today so will see how they go. I did add in a dash of cumin, coriander and some chilli powder. I used oats instead of bread!

will report back!
