Have been reading through the last few pages as we've been away on holiday. There seems to have been several lots of good news which is good to read. Sorry to see you back Lexilex.

My husband has finally got some contract work for a few weeks which is a huge relief as he was getting so bored, so the immediate pressure has been lifted a little, but the search for something longer term continues.

Good news - I have been offered the temp contract position I interviewed for this morning. I'm so excited about the job! :jThe unfortunate thing is it will run out in April 2012.

Still got another interview tomorrow, which will attend, this one is permanent - but I prefer the temp job! Gonna see what happens, as may not even have a decision to make.

Can't believe I finish on 30th Sept and then start new job on 3rd Oct. I know I am very lucky, but hopefully am also proof that it can work out!

I will keep an eye on how you are all getting on, and of course will be back with you all continuing the search for permanent work next year!

Good luck and fingers crossed for you all :)

Not a great week for me. It seems really, really quiet again. Any 'irons in my fire' have stopped smouldering and to cap it all I had my first round of root canal at the dentist this afternoon!

I really need my luck to change!

Congratulations jules! I also start my new job on the 3rd with a three week break between jobs which my redundancy more than covered so yeah, it is possible to get lucky (which I feel I am) in the current jobs market.

  • Hi

I'm joining in if thats ok! Been told recently that our business is relocating over 50 miles away - I don't have access to a car and also ave young children so can't really add a 3 hor commute on to my day anyway! So thats me redundant in 6 months - have dusted off the old CV and revamp and its now on TotalJobs, Reed and the local newspaper website.

Am looking for admin assistant work or even accounts work where I can go back and complete my AAT. Am in North Manchester so if anyone knows anything or got any good tips, I'm all ears!!
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
