Job interview in Argos next week, only for a temp job but that'll be better than no wages that's for sure, have got applications in with Sainsburys & Game too, fingers crossed!

    fingers crossed bluenoseam,
  • I got offered a telephone interview for Friday morning I am absolutely terrified incase I stumble my words with it being so long it could be pretty awkward.

So glad I've been given an interview after 2 years of nothing though, even if I don't get it I'm greatful I got given a chance finally.

    Any telephone do's & don'ts?

I will be joining you all again on Friday. Found out my temporary job is coming to an end this week. I've decided I am not going back to the job centre. I've managed to save the majority of my wages (although not a huge amount as it was only NMW) and get my debts (only owed to family) paid off so will live off what I have got.

I am really considering paying one of the CV places to look through my CV. I have had pretty good feedback from it but I just feel something must be stopping my getting the jobs I am applying for.
  • Apparently I was shortlisted for an assistant technical officer position within the NHS (pharmacy based) but definitely never got an email about it! Anyway the lady on the phone said they were in fact inviting me for an interview this Thursday which I happily agreed to and thanked her for. I looked up the postcode and apparently it is a community centre in an extremely rough part of the city centre, so not only do I not want to travel into the area and I also don't want to be exposed to some of the cities least nicest people :/ I know a job is a job but this is literally in the top 5 worst places in England. Any advice???

Congratulations to everyone who has had job offers, interviews lined up this week.

I haven't heard back about my interview that I had. They said they were going to let me know by the end of last week, but nothing. I would normally assume that this just meant it was a no, but they made a very big point of telling me that they would let me know either way... not sure if I should contact them or not? :(

Got an interview on Thurs for a temporary contract until March next year. This is my best hope for employment at the moment so really hope I have the experience/ technical ability that they are looking for

Fingers crossed this is a good week :)

    /QUOTE]

I too have this issue, 3 out of my 4 interviews from last week have not gotten in touch with me. I actually thought my phone call earlier was from one of them (when instead it was aforementioned interview for thursday). I'm going to give it a few more days and will probably chase them up.
  • I've got sore eyes from staring at my phone, willing it to ring to get an outcome from the assessment day on Friday. It has been no more than 6 inches from my hands since 8am... they said they'd let me know by telephone 'early next week'. I suppose I'm expecting a bit too much to know by now :rotfl:

The more I'm thinking about it the more I'm getting worked up worrying because it's such a good opportunity very few things will match up to it. If it all goes wrong I still have an interview next Thursday but I'm going mad waiting... I'm unemployed from next Friday!

We all seem to be in the same boat today, hope for good news for us all tomorrow x

    Hi,

I've had this before after I attended an interview, it turned out that the job had been offered to somebody else but they held back informing me in case the other person turned it down as I was "their second choice" Hope it isn't that for you and they are just taking their time to inform you of your success.

Good to see some good news around here on this thread, sorry to see you back Lexilex.

I'm still stuck in my temp job, which I hate as it's so boring but at least i'm fairly secure where I am and they like that i'm such a hard worker. Not really seen much around to apply for lately which is getting me down a bit but hopefully something will turn up soon.

    Have a good week all.

I saved my money from my last job and live off it until I found my current job instead of putting myself through the stress of the Job centre.

I am not very happy in my current job going through some issues so when I get paid at the end of the month and going to put away most of my salary just in case anything happens.

    Good luck
