Afternoon all,
I'm still waiting to hear from the Primary School I've applied to. Closing date was last Friday, I went to visit them on Friday for an informal chat. Waiting to hear if I've been given an interview or not. Hope so, the school looks nice.
I think they are holding interviews this week, but that might not be the case as the start date isn't until 6th May, due to someone retiring.
So I might not hear immediately.
So another admin job and fired off a CV for that one as well, closing date this Thursday/Friday.
Filled in a form and took it to JC as my C-JSA runs out on 6th March , very worried about that.
When I was made redundant last September, this March seemed an awfully long way off!!!!0 -
No response yet from the interview I had on Thursday. Been constantly checking my phone to make sure it's still got signal!
I got excited earlier when I saw a job I wanted advertised, but I don't have the relevant experienceNo chance of getting it without live studio experience!
I'm still suffering injuries from letting loose at the weekend, my foot is sore, as some 6 foot guy stepped on it, and not lightly! So not been feeling up to doing much job searching apart from the usual checking of websites.0 -
Interview this morning- it was a bit of a hellish journey over there, RTA on the motorway. Took 1 hr and 10 mins to get there, luckily I'd allowed more than that. Not really sure how things went, I'm conscious that I wasn't anywhere near as enthusiastic as I was in last week's interview- however interview 1 was 2.4 miles away, today's was 20 miles!
Will know by the end of the week hopefully.
Call from agent this morning and now another interview arranged tomorrow at 9am! Spent all afternoon preparing for that one, it pays well, it's in the sector I want to go into and it's only a few miles away. Second interview for last week's job arranged for a week on Weds, and a couple of calls today about potential roles.
Does anyone else think that job hunting is much harder than actually working? I know that having spent all today driving to and from interviews and then preparing for tomorrow's, I'll need to do some more prep tonight and possibly a run out to check where the offices are for tomorrow's interview.
How is everyone else's week so far?0 -
I had an interview today, I don't think it went all that well. I'm actually kind of glad for that, as the commute was over two hours - using a taxi to get home, so in real time it would have been 2.5 to 3 hours door to door - for a temp job.
Keep holding out for something good that's relatively local to come along.0 -
No jobs to apply for here today either.....except a temp job in the school I am working and volunteering in!. Until I have done the voluntary work I dont meet the minimum requirements for the job advertised so its come just a bit early grrr!! Its only till July but more than 4 times what I am earning now! Ah well I just need patience:o
Good luck everyone btw;)JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

I had an interview at 10 this morning for an admin role. At 17:01 I got a call offering me the job, hooray! I have a quick question... I'm not due to start until the 28th and I haven't signed anything yet as they're sending it to me in the post. Would you wait until you signed a contract until you resigned?
Thanks and good luck to all!0 -

I would wait till I have the job offer in writing and then hand in my notice. Thats what I have done in the past.
I didnt get my existing contract until over 2 months after I had started my job but obviously this isnt the norm (but I am not sure what is tbh). Is it still usual practice to write an acceptance letter for a post offered too?..its a while since I have been in this situation myself and it would be handy to know!;)JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. Excellent news, well done. That's our first success of the week and it's only Monday.
I too found nothing to apply for today, still tomorrow is another day.0 -
Congrats sharloid! Well done. I agree, I would wait until everything is signed before I hand in my resignation.
I had an interview last Friday, and got the 'why are you applying, you seem over qualified?' Argh! I hate these questions, because you can never say the truth, which is BECAUSE IT'S A JOB, HAVE YOU SEEN THE STATE OF THE JOB MARKET AT THE MOMENT?! and have to come up with something about the company/work being so wonderful, interesting and challenging that I'm willing to commute 4 hrs a day and take a hefty pay cut too - I don't think they believed me :o
And breathe.
It's got to get better, right?0 -

:j Well done you! Let's hope that's the first of many success stories this week.
I still haven't heard back from my interview on 3rd Feb. I obviously haven't got the job, but I really want to send a snotty email to them. Why are they just so rude and ignorant. It would take them a minute to write an email and send it to all us failures.
Off to search the jobs sites. Hope there's more to apply for today.0
