Thanks Linda32, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed you get good news too!
I've got mixed feeling about today, excitement as I would love this job and can imagine being very happy with the organisation for many years to come - then fear sets in! Did I impress them? Did I over emphasis my skills to the point of making me sound big headed? Did they notice my hands shaking (it was purely nerves but they might think I have an alcohol problem!?
Its going to be a looong old weekend!
p.s. Good luck in your new venture Webitha - it sounds very exciting!0 -
A lot of people getting interviews here
well done! And hope you all get a "yes"!
Well I have that Friday feeling after my first week in work. The work is a bit dull but it's money and there might be a very slight chance of getting quite a good paid job out of it, very slight but you never know!
I did get an email from another company asking when I have 10 mins for a telephone chat so I've given them my lunchtime but I'm not too fussed, it's rubbish payJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Very best of luck to everyoneDrea, hope things brighten up for you, but dull can be good, less stress.
Mandrose, No I'm sure they didn't think you'ed been on the  if they noticed, and I was in their position, it would show you cared enough for it to bother you that much. Rather than couldn't give a monkeys.
Try not to think about it (easier said I know) and have a good weekend.0 -
Well I didn't hear back today, only had the interview yesterday anyway. So will most likely be early next week.
Instead of thinking about it all weekend I'm going to enjoy myself! Going out to a club tonight and going to see My Chemical Romance tomorrow (bought the tickets when I was employed). Forget my unemployed worries for a bit, and then Monday they can resume!0 -

That's the way Sharon, have a good weekend and I hope you get good news early next week.0 -
Hi everyone
I had some great news today, I have been shortlisted for the second interview for the job that I went for on Wednesday!
It seems that they were impressed with my answers competency based skills questions, my enthusiasm and the fact that I had taken the time to learn about the company (it is an iconic brand but I delved into the financials etc). It is currently between me and another person although they have another two interviews on Monday and one of these may go through. Still, a 1/3 chance is better than a 1/8 chance!
I also have a first interview on Monday morning for a role I applied to the employer directly so it's all to play for at the moment!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and that you all have a good start to the new week. I'm sending out my luck and positive vibes to you all, and hoping that something comes of the upcoming interviews!

Hmm, well after the first week of my new job the best I can say about it is - at least it's money! I hope! The manager hasn't mentioned when I'll be paid or asked for my bank details. I've managed to gather that pay will be monthly and will be paid at the end of the month but I'm going to have to bring it up next week as I've also gathered that previous staff members have had issues with receiving payments on time. I can't say I'm keen on my job, it's pretty boring and a bit quiet for my liking. So as soon as I get home every night I've had a look online to see if any new jobs have been advertised. There's been nothing good until today when I found 5 really good jobs that would suit me so I'm going to spend tomorrow applying for them. Here's hoping for something better!Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

Morning all.
Very quick post, I normally avoid all types of job seeking on a weekend but thought I would pass this on.
I was at a family get together last night, and the reed free cv service was recommended to me. Apparently you upload your cv and they go through it with you, all for free. This was recommended by somebody who has used it, so may be worth a try.
Have a great weekend!0 -
Good luck to everyone, fingers crossed, it'll be a long weekend for those of you waiting for news!
Still finding it tough to get motivated, but made out a list of things to do and that seems to have me up and running a bit better with job searching and actually being proactive. I think I'm just scared witless, if I'm honest, because a new job for me will be in a completely new area since I don't want to fall back on my previous banking experience for all the tea in China! Outwardly, of course, I welcome the challenge!! ;-D
Thank you so much to you DREA for sending through a copy of your CV, it's made me think a few things through. And to LEXILEX too, that Reed CV review sounds great and I took a quick peek online, seems ultra easy so could be very handy.
Quick question - I have all my school and industry qualification certificates neatly and carefully stored - with the exception of my A Level certificate, it's just not there, can't find it anywhere. I've got these qualifications on my CV but am concerned that I might be caught between a rock and hard place - if I leave these on my CV and a prospective employer asks to see them, I can't produce and it might look like I was lying. On the other hand, if I take them out of my CV, it 'could' make the difference between interview/job or not. Is it unlikely that an employer will ask to see exam certificates from 23 years ago and am I stressing for nothing??!!
