  • Toots, I would think it's unlikely any employer would ask to see the certificates, l would certainly keep the qualifications on your CV. You can always contact (if possible) the college and see if they can provide replacements or even a letter conforming the qualifications you gained whilst there? Worth a try

Woops, my good time without thinking of job seeking involved clubbing and spending almost £30! Oh well I got a drink bought for me and it was a brilliant night. Feeling the effects this morning though. Will definitely go back there, but probably when I've got a job and more money

    Afternoon all,

How is everybody today, anybody had any luck yet?

I seem to remember that there were a few people with interviews this week so all the best to those people.

I've decided to start the week with a pessimistic view and hope that things get better as the week goes on!

Let's hope for some success stories this week
  • Well, a morning of very hard work, one dumbed down CV for customer services, removed everything but 'managed customer services to a high standard' on my job experience, just relied on my rewritten profile, achievements and skills to carry it through (if anyone has an opinion on this and dumbing down CVs I would love to hear).

Two very heavily tailored CVs, still not an 'exact match' but I have done my best. At the very least, I may be getting better at it. Rewritten cover notes too.

I have an interview tomorrow, not sure there is anymore prep I can do for that, it is a very flexible job description and interview with an old contact.

Interview with recruiter on Friday was OK, not great, I am now just on their books. Yet again not being put forward for the job I was bought in for.

    How is everyone?

    Afternoon everyone.

Not a good day for jobs here, very few ads but managed find one to apply for. Hopefully something else might pop up before the end of the day. Monday's never seem to be good for jobs around here.

    Very, very bored today!

    Hi everyone!

Same here Lexilex, there never seems much around on a Monday! I've been looking all morning but haven't found anything to apply for. I'm also waiting to hear either tomorrow or Wednesday, whether I've been successful after my interview last week - I feel really on edge and can't seem to concentrate on anything!

At least the sun is peeping out a bit today, I might even give up with job searching today and go into the garden for a while!
  • I had an interview on Thursday - the first thing to come along in ages - only for it to be 'direct sales and marketing' i.e. door to door, commission only self employed nonsense. Don't give up hope, we'll all get to where we want to be in the end.
  • I learnt a valuable lesson today as I found that I hadn't been shortlisted for a job because the recruitment agency assumed that as the role was 150 miles from the address on my CV that I wouldn't be interested. He did say that he looked at my CV and I was a great fit but the location just didn't look rightt, unfortunately they are now at the second stage of interviews. I should have phoned up or put in my covering letter that I was willing/wanting to relocate not just assume that as I had applied that the recruiter would know that I would be interested!
At least the recruitment consultant said that my CV was very good and believed my skills were very marketable and he was sure that I would find a role really quickly! I am sure it is just the usual bullsh1t they spout out, but at least it sounded good!
