Well I have an interview lined up for the internship (at Reed) on Monday. Obviously doesn't pay anything but would be 12 weeks of experience which is something I badly need.
If I don't get it though then I clearly am beyond help...if I can't even persuade someone to let me work for free!!0 -

Not at all, it's just a reflection of the dire state of the employment market. Keep bashing away, you will succeed as it's not a matter of if, but when.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is not at all bad. Knowing something about the company helps you in preparation but most employers don't mind if you know little of their organisation and it gives you something to ask questions about and show some interest in them. There are always two sides to a coin and you seem to have done ok. So even if noting more comes of the interview then it's more experience to put into play for the next one.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everythings all happened at once re job applications, I've got three interviews next week (monday tuesday and wednesday!) and I had a call yesterday from a catering company who have matched my CV up to a few jobs in my area so fingers crossed something comes of my interviews0

O/H passed me the very nasty cold that gave him a week off work sick. I was feeling poorly at Friday's interview and feel much worst today. Relieved that I don't have an interview today and expect I will feel better for tomorrow's interview. Anyone had the experience of going to an interview with a cold (or any other illness)?0

Hi all
I'm absolutely gutted as I looked through about 600 spam emails this morning, I found was an email inviting me an interview... but it was for last Wednesday!!! I could cry. I don't know whether to contact them and explain what happened, or just suck it up and stop thinking about it.

Totally gutted... so sorry for you. I'd contact them, what have you got to lose? A few weeks ago I contacted two companies as I'd seen posts advertised when I was casually looking on my lunch break at work and got home only for them to have been already closed due to number of applicants. One of them said there was nothing she could do, but the other sent me an online application so I could apply (and I got an interview). It might well be that they say tough, and you'll have to suck it up and learn for future, but you never know...!
I am jobless from the 30th Sept.. was supposed to have an interview last Thurs but it's been postponed til the 29th. Was wallowing in self pity all weekend as I had not heard from anywhere else, but today I've received an invite to an assessment day this Friday! It's seems like a really interesting job that I could definitely progress in, so I'm now revising like crazy!
Glad you're enjoying your work hello2007, just think how good it'll feel when you see that hard earned cash in your account!
