    Afternoon all,

I hear this is the place to have a rant and a moan? I know i should be grateful i have a job but im so misserable here. I'm very much the outsider at the moment and my boss is making my life hell, i can make a good judge that she is trying to get rid of me.
I moved to a new area and year ago and have always planned to find a job closer to home .. rather than the hour each way at the moment ..... but there is seriously nothing out there suitable its so depressing :(

Thats my moan over with :)
    Ant.
  • My boyfriend rang up a restaurant on Saturday who advertised a catering assistant vacancy, and he went for the interview today and turns out he was the only applicant :O and the job has been on directgov since last friday! I was quite shocked tbh, and this means he is in with a very good chance of getting it! If he does that means our joint JSA goes out the window and I'm now under more pressure to find something as well..

Mm, isn't it depressing? I'm just hoping it's going to be a bit more positive than the past few weeks which have been horrendous. Got to keep optimistic!!

Keep the faith, there's something out there for everyone - you never know when Megan Fox will need to replace her modesty tape application assistant :D

Another week indeed. In 2 weeks it is going to be a year since I have been out of work.

To make it not so bad and to take my mind off it, I took 2 weeks off my voluntary work, as I have been doing it a year with no holiday. My partner was meant to be going abroad but his passport won't be back as he has to have an interview. soooo me and partner were going to go away on a freebie holiday (his parents caravan) for 4 days, tesco vouchers/food vouchers so we can eat and I have BOGOF and discount vouchers for the area plus parental sympathy donations. Thought it would more than make up for disastrous "Holiday" weekend away in May where some of us STILL aren't talking :rotfl:

    BUT

(He works full time, shift work) His friend is the line supervisor for his shift and hasn't properly put his holiday through so it's probably all out the window! He would have been really annoyed if he had got his passport, booked flights etc and not got it. I'm just sitting around waiting to find out, there's enough of it for job hunting!
  • Ooh got an interview for a ladieswear department in 2 weeks time! An annoyingly long time to wait but I guess lots of time to prepare! I'm so shocked, I've applied for soo many jobs and this is my first response offering an interview! Had a missed call earlier from an unknown number (which was probably a job!!) but it was at the exact same time I got an email offering said interview so I hope it was just the department trying to ring and confirm!

    Hello,

Can I join you guys.I'm relativity new here (not been on the boards for a few years - forgot I had even registered until it told me so) and am like many looking for work. Feel like I should give a bit of an introduction/overview as to where I'm at.

I worked in admin since I was sixteen but went to Uni and have now graduated with First Class Hons in Biomedical science - which I'm over the moon with still can't believe It. Anyhow now comes the hard part getting a job that incorporates areas of my degree. Ideally would like to be working in the NHS Trainee biomed positions are few and far between but other positions such as lab assistants and technicians come up which I've been applying for Also been applying for admin positions in the NHS relevant to areas such as clinical trials & Research just to get a foot in the door. The NHS jobs website has to be watched like a hawk, there seems to be no set times when jobs are posted and thanks to the 'this post will close when sufficient applications have been received' line some positions can be closed in hours - I have even had one close on me within the space of 30 mins from when I started my application.

Have sent my CV to various scientific recruitment organizations have uploaded my C.V to the likes of monster as well as new scientist. But have heard nothing from any of these avenues.

Have been claiming JSA since the beginning of July roughly and am getting fed up with the job center. No idea who my personal adviser is should I need to get in contact with them, Am still waiting for a 30 min appointment that was supposed to be had the first time I went to sign on, was good as told that I wouldn't get a job in my desired field through them. But to be honest wasn't expecting much from them in the first place.

I'm still at home with the rent's at the grand old age of 24 am a member of the can't drive club. But have an amazing fella (AKA driver!) we have been together for 6 years now. Can't wait to get working again and join the real world, start saving for a place of our own, a much needed holiday

I have an interview on Saturday - For a Saturday job at Manchester Royal Infirmary in the department where they sterilize surgical instruments etc so fingers crossed.

 Bye for now, thanks for reading - too all those with interviews coming up good luck!
  • Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone the best of luck this week! We're heading into September and ll of the agencies are saying it's one of the busiest times for them so lets get in there and show them what we are made of!!!!!
