  • Morning everyone !

I am a little bit nervous today as have my first interview tomorrow morning

I am trying to be as well prepared as possible - have prepared myself some answers to questions and done a bit of research about the company ..... very nervous though !!
If everything happens for a reason - I wish someone would hurry up and tell me the reason !:)
  • Ooh how exciting, sure you will do well you seem to be very organised!

If you haven't done so already, have a couple of questions to ask them when they ask you at the end of the interview. I'm terrible for gabbling in an interview and asking my questions as it goes on :o so I have to try really hard to keep my big mouth shut :)

Also if you do feel really nervous when you are there, then say so, I don't think there is anything wrong in admitting it and it shows you care and they should try to put you more at your ease. Remember you are sort of interviewing them as well as them interviewing you and that should give you a bit more confidence.

    Good luck!!

  • Has anyone had a lone parent interview at the job centre?

I've got one tomorrow morning and I'm not really sure what to expect, at my first meeting the advisor was a bit vague and said it was standard procedure and it would be very helpful. I will probably start gabbling and ask if they provide a dating service as well :D

    Thanks,
    BB

So I did the telephone interview. It was for the role of researcher and I had done my research. The employer found it amusing when I told him I knew where he went to school/Uni etc. He said that I have made the shortlist as I had a great personality BUT my offivce experience is limited so I am just hoping I hear something back. I hate waiting - well we all do don't we!!

Well I got an email from the job I applied for. I had to fill out an application form and send it by email. So will just have to wait and see what happens.

On another note I received an application form for volunteering with the CAB. I have to fill it out and send it back so I'll get that done.

Will be good experience and get me out the house too.
  • I got some work today.. it is unpaid however as it is volunteering at my local Salvation Army charity shop. It is nice to have someone welcome me into their shop rather than just ignore my application or reject me. Hopefully will get an interview for paid employment soon, fingers crossed!

Best of luck - I hope you hear some good news soon!
  • Is all getting on top of me so after next week I'm going to take 2 weeks off. I haven't had any time off in the year I have been doing voluntary work for a "holiday" and I need the break.

I love volunteering in a charity shop, I am the one usually ripping open the bags of donations so I rescue a lot of stuff from the bin/ragmen :D
