  • Well... had a second interview but didnt get the job. They did ring back and said that they were impressed by me and asked if they could keep my details as they *may* take another person on towards the end of September. I'm not pinning my hopes on this happening but it did go a long way to making me feel better after not getting the job as I certainly wasnt expecting a phonecall to let know I hadnt been successful.... Anyways with hubby being back at work after a week off and a few weeks of the summer hols left I'm going to rework my CV and then hit the agencies when DD goes back to school. (we have only just moved to a new area and Ive no one to look after DD if I did get an interview)
Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!

Well that's my first setback for the day. After been encouraged yesterday to ring the hospital department direct I this morning had to speak to the HR department to get a direct line only the snotty lady said I couldn't speak to someone as
"All jobs are on the web site & you have to apply for them in the correct manner"! :( oh well onwards!!

Sorry to hear about this, shame you couldn't do her job:mad: she obviously does not value initiative as well as lacking social skills

Spoke to my advisor this morning who is helping me devise better interview answers. Feel so much more positive now and will celebrate by having a cup of lovely tea.

You did make me giggle as I thought the same as I have worked in a job similar to hers & I would of never spoke to anyone like that.
I have started to realise this is the kind of treatment you seem to get from some staff when you mention you are looking for work it's like they instantly think they can talk to you like something they have just trodden in despite the fact you may have more/the same qualifications as them! but they don't know that when they are speaking to you like a moron!
    rant over!:eek::)

So, not feeling confident whilst waiting the outcome of my second interview :(

so applied for about 10 jobs this morining - i'm sure i'll be over qualified for some, and the underqualified for others.

Its so demoralising when you see that 50 other people have applied for the same job!

Unfortunately, struggling to find some positivety at the moment. I'm tired of spending all my time worrying about finding a job, and I can't see it ending!

Applied for a job at The Works, signed on which took all of minutes and was different to whats happened before so maybe its due to the stage im at now which is 13 week stage, completed excel part of ecdl which i glad as it was getting a bit tiresome. And going to register at an agency on friday so thats it for me, sod all in the paper again.
  • Well I finally plucked up the courage to phone about the job I applied for last month and had a letter 2 weeks ago to say shortlisting had been delayed. Unfortunately, the HR Department were all out in a meeting! Argh!

My brain is now thinking, maybe they are out at a meeting to discuss the shortlisting of the position? I really, really, want at least an interview for this job, I can really see myself working there and it's in the exact area I want to work in and have my degree and experience in.

    Fingers crossed!

I had the worst day first of all I had swallow my pride and make a appointment to go the job centre to see about going on Jobseekers. I then got a call from a company inviting me to a interview tomorrow and that they will email me with the address details so I waited and there was no email. My email address is right next to my telephone number on my CV so they did have my email address because they call me. I called the company and they said that they did not know anything about the interview and that they would get someone to call me I am still waiting for the call.

I keep looking on the jobsites and see that most of the jobs on there that I have already applied for and waiting to hear or I was unsuccessful for.

My life really sucks at the moment and really hope that when I go to the job centre that I have a advisor that treats me with respect.

Hello2007, I hope you got on ok at the job centre. It's never a lovely experience but I've always found the advisors to be ok and occasionally you get a really good one. They can separate 'the wheat from the chaff' so to speak, so there is now reason why they won't treat you exactly how you deserve to be! I find the worse bit walking through the intimidating crowd that tends to hang around outside.

Did that company get back to you in the end? I often find that when I speak to people that promised email takes an age to actually arrive

Bad news - didn't get job.

Said that they liked me, just that other person had more complaint handling experience. Said they would be happy for me to apply for other roles.

Seriously running out of time to find a job. Tired of worriyng about how I am going to pay my mortgage and bills! :(
